A flip trick is a type of skateboarding trick in which the skateboard rotates around its vertical axis, or its vertical axis and its horizontal axis simultaneously. A skateboarding trick, or simply a trick, is a maneuver performed by manipulating a skateboard, usually with one's feet, in a specific way to achieve the desired outcome – the trick. History Though skateboards emerged in the 1900s, skateboarding tricks like the ones done today did not appear until decades later. In the 1970s and earlier, the most common tricks were "2D" freestyle types such as manuals and pivots. Only later in the 1980s and early 1990s were common modern-day tricks like the Ollie (skateboarding), ollie and heel-flip invented by Alan Gelfand and Rodney Mullen, setting the stage for other aerial tricks. Torey Jamieson Pudwill (born May 2, 1990), also known by his nicknames "T-Puds and The Worm", is an American professional street skateboarder. Early life Pudwill was born in Simi Valley, California, United States (US). In a February 2013 online interview, Pudwill explained that Justin Schulte (also a sponsored skateboarder as of March 2013) was the friend that he would mostly skateboard with during his early adolescence. As a teenager, Pudwill would spend his time skateboarding with his friend Arturo at the Skatelab in Simi Valley, California. Kareem Campbell (born November 14, 1973) is an American professional skateboarder. He is known for popularizing the skateboard trick "The Ghetto Bird" which is a nollie hardflip late 180°. Skateboarding career Kareem Campbell was an innovative professional skateboarder in the 1990s. Carlsbad High School is a public high school in Carlsbad, California. History As an aftermath of World War II and the subsequent baby boom, Carlsbad's population skyrocketed and there became a sudden need for more schools. Lewis Kristian Marnell (3 December 1982 – 18 January 2013) was a professional skateboarder from Melbourne, Australia who was Slam Magazine's 2008 "Skater of the Year". Chris Haslam (born December 19, 1980) is a Canadian professional skateboarder whose natural stance is right foot forward, or 'Goofy'. He is recognized as an innovative skateboarder whose skateboarding is defined by creativity and progression. Early life When he was 11 years of age, Haslam relocated to Singapore with his parents. Haslam's family returned to Canada for a year in 1996, living in Komoka, and Haslam attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School (London, Ontario). Haslam's interest in skateboarding began in November 1993, prior to his thirteenth birthday, and his first skateboard deck was from the Santa Cruz company.
