Oliver Partington
Oliver Partington (born 3 September 1998) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a and for the Catalans Dragons in the Super League and the England Knights at international level. He has previously played for the Wigan Warriors in the Super League, and spent time on loan from Wigan at the Swinton Lions in the Championship, and the London Skolars in Betfred League 1. Background Partington was born in Billinge, Merseyside, England. Career Wigan Warriors In 2018 he made his Super League début for Wigan against the Castleford Tigers. He played in the 2020 Super League Grand Final which Wigan lost 8-4 against St Helens. Salford Red Devils In September 2022 he signed for the Salford Red Devils on a two-year deal. In the 2023 Super League season, Partington played 20 matches for Salford as the club finished 7th on the table and missed the playoffs. Billinge, Wigan
Billinge Higher End or Higher End is an area of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. Governance Billinge was a civil parish lying within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire on 2 February 1837 it was divided into two townships, Billinge Chapel End and Billinge Higher End when the Wigan poor law union was formed merging the workhouse provision of 20 parishes in the Wigan area. In 1866 Billinge Higher End became a separate civil parish. The poor law union built the Wigan Poor Law Infirmary in 1906 which became Billinge Hospital. In 1872 Billinge Local Board of Health was established for the area of these two townships and two detached parts of Winstanley township (one known as Blackley Hurst and the other situated in the Carr Mill area, both lying within the area of Billinge Chapel End township). Headingley Rugby Stadium (known as AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium due to sponsorship) is a rugby league stadium in Headingley, Leeds and shares the same site as Headingley Cricket Ground. It is the home ground of the Leeds Rhinos, and is the fifth largest rugby league stadium in England.
