Oliver Callan (born 27 December 1980) is an Irish vocal and performance satirist and impressionist known as the creator of '' Callan's Kicks'', '' Nob Nation'' and for frequent appearances on '' The Saturday Night Show''. He rose to fame during the 2000s when his daily ''Nob Nation'' slots aired on RTÉ Radio. His ''Callan's Kicks'' creation on RTÉ Radio 1 has been described by ''The Sunday Independent'' as "the best comedy show the national broadcaster has ever produced". Inniskeen
Inniskeen, officially Inishkeen (), is a small village, townland and parish in County Monaghan, Ireland, close to the County Louth and County Armagh borders. The village is located about from Dundalk, from Carrickmacross, and from Crossmaglen. Seven townlands of this Roman Catholic Diocese of Clogher parish lie within County Louth. History This territory had been inhabited from the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age. Rock art carvings ( Petroglyphs) have been discovered in adjoining townlands (including Drumirril) dating to 3000 BC. Cup and ring marks with concentric circles are the main inscriptions. They have been excavated by UCD School of Archaeology. Finds on the site ranged from late Neolithic to the early Christian period. These included ancient cooking places known as Fulachta Fiadh. ''Gift Grub'' is a series of short comic pieces broadcast on weekdays on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on the Irish commercial radio station Today FM, having been broadcast since May 1999. History A precursor to "Gift Grub" originally aired on Today FM's predecessor, Radio Ireland, as a series of sketches called "Starship Compromise". This Star Trek parody featured a caricature of Gerry Adams as a starship captain accompanied by Martin McGuinness, with the two scouring the galaxy, seeking compromise with alien beings. In 1998, presenter Ian Dempsey joined the newly renamed Today FM which had replaced Radio Ireland. David Patrick Bernard Norris (born 31 July 1944) is an Irish scholar, former independent Senator, and civil rights activist. Internationally, Norris is credited with having "managed, almost single-handedly, to overthrow the anti-homosexuality law which brought about the downfall of Oscar Wilde", a feat he achieved in 1988 after a fourteen-year campaign.
