''Olearia eremaea'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae and is endemic to inland areas of Western Australia. It is a shrub with scattered, more or less elliptic leaves, and white and yellow, daisy-like inflorescences. Description ''Olearia eremaea'' is a shrub that typically grows to a height of up to . Its stems and leaves are covered with minute glandular hairs. It has scattered, usually elliptic leaves arranged alternately along the branchlets, long and wide with toothed edges. Both surfaces of the leaves are sticky and densely covered with glandular hairs. The heads or daisy-like "flowers" are arranged singly on the ends of branchlets and are in diameter on a peduncle long. Each head has 13 to 22 white ray florets, the ligule long, surrounding 41 to 46 yellow disc florets. ''Olearia'', most commonly known as daisy-bush, is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae, the largest of the flowering plant families in the world. Olearia are found in Australia, New Guinea and New Zealand. The genus includes herbaceous plants, shrubs and small trees. The Great Victoria Desert is a sparsely populated desert ecoregion and Interim Biogeographic Regionalisation for Australia, interim Australian bioregion in Western Australia and South Australia. Cosmo Newbery (also spelt Cosmo Newberry) is a small Aboriginal community in Western Australia, east of Perth between Laverton and Warburton in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. Alexander Segger George (born 4 April 1939) is an Australian botanist. He is an authority on the plant genus, genera ''Banksia'' and ''Dryandra''. The "bizarre" Restionaceae genus ''Alexgeorgea'' was named in his honour in 1976. Early life Alex Segger George was born in Western Australia on 4 April 1939. Career George joined the Western Australian Herbarium as a laboratory assistant at the age of 20 in 1959.
