Old Safilguda Neredmet
Safilguda originally named as Safilgudem before (1970's) is a residential locality in Neredmet neighbourhood of Hyderabad city. It falls under Malkajgiri mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Indian state of Telangana. It formed Ward No. 137 of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in 2009. Popular Safilguda lake or formally Nadimi Cheruvu is located here. The boundary road around the lake is fashioned like the Tank Bund on the Hussain Sagar Lake and hence is also referred to as Safilguda mini tankbund. This is a popular attraction for the locals for jogging and evening-walks. History The early settlers of Safilgudem, who came around the 1960s/1970s, had a very tough time since this area was isolated with no means of transport to reach the city and no electricity. ''Gudem'' means "hamlet" or "village". In 1970s people had to bicycle around 6 km to reach the city unless they were able to get the occasional bus. Neredmet, formally known as Neredu Mettu, is a residential neighbourhood in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It falls under Malkajgiri mandal & Circle in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Neredmet currently serves as the headquarters of Rachakonda Police commissionerate, one of the three police commissionerates of Hyderabad City. It was earlier a part of Malkajgiri Municipality, but now it is administered under Malkajgiri Circle of GHMC-Secunderabad Zone. Hussain Sagar
Hussain Sagar (alternatively referred to as Tank Bund; ) is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1562. It is spread across an area of and is fed by the Musi River (India), River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. Tank Bund Road
The Tank Bund Road is a road in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, India. The Tank Bund dams Hussain Sagar lake on the eastern side and connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It has become an attraction with 33 statues of famous people from the region.
