Old Crescent RFC
Old Crescent is a senior rugby club in Limerick, playing in Division 2A of the All-Ireland League. History Early years Source: Old Crescent grew out of the Crescent College Munster School's cup team of 1947. Fr Gerry Guinane, who trained rugby in the College, saw great potential in that winning team and persuaded them to stay and play together. In September 1947 it became a member club of the Munster Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union. In 1952 the club was promoted to senior club membership of the Branch and the ‘Ginner’s’ formidable negotiating skills were more than useful in the process. Father Guinane remained deeply involved with the club until his death. Membership was initially confined to past pupils of Crescent College SJ, however it has been an 'open club' for many years. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) () is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). Sundays Well RFC
Sundays Well Rugby Football Club is an amateur rugby union team based in Cork City, Ireland. Originally founded in 1906 in the Sunday's Well area on the northside of Cork city, it has been based at Musgrave Park on the city's southside since the mid-20th century. The club's first team competes in the Munster Junior League Division 1 following relegation from Division 2C of the Energia All Ireland League in 2023. Sundays Well RFC is home to the first Irish Mixed Ability Rugby Team – Sundays Well Rebels. The team began training together in January 2014 and have had two Mixed Ability World Tournament wins. Ian Donald Jones (born 17 April 1967) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. He played 79 tests for the All Blacks. Mike Mullins (born Auckland, 29 October 1970) is a former New Zealand-born Irish rugby union footballer. He played primarily as an outside centre. Eoin Reddan
Eoin Reddan (born Limerick, Ireland, 20 November 1980) is a retired Ireland, Irish rugby union player who played at Scrum-half (rugby union), scrum half. He initially attended the Jesuit boarding school, Clongowes Wood College, Clongowes Wood, before moving school to Crescent College, Crescent College Comprehensive where he captained the school side. Andrew Brace is a rugby union referee and former player. Born in Cardiff, Wales, Brace represents the Irish Rugby Football Union as a referee, and was an international player for Belgium. Young Munster is a rugby union club based in Limerick, Ireland, playing in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League. It was founded in 1895 and plays its games at Tom Clifford Park in Rosbrien, Limerick. The club has won the Munster Senior Rugby Cup ten times, in 1928, 1930, 1938, 1980, 1984, 1990, 2010, 2021, 2022 and 2023. They won the Munster Junior Cup in 1911, 1922, 1927, 1959, 1960, 1984 and 1999 and 2022. The club is known by its nickname "The Cookies". History Young Munster was founded in 1895.
