Old-Timers
Old-Timers (Czech title ''Staříci'') is a 2019 Czech thriller starring Jiří Schmitzer and Ladislav Mrkvička. It was directed by Martin Dušek and Ondřej Provazník. Plot Vlastimil Reiner returns to the Czech Republic from Oregon. He meets with his old friend Antonín and together they plan to murder an elderly former Communist prosecutor who evaded punishment for his crimes under the Communist regime. Ladislav Mrkvička
Ladislav Mrkvička (2 February 1939 in Prague – 27 December 2020) was a Czech actor. He starred in the film ''Atentát'' and in the television series ''Thirty Cases of Major Zeman'', both under director Jiří Sequens. For his performance in the film ''Old-Timers'', he received the Czech Lion 2019 for Best Supporting Actor. In 1962, he graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. From 1991, he was a member of the National Theatre in Prague. Finále Plzeň is a film festival based in the Czech Republic. It focuses on Czech feature and documentary films. The best film is awarded the Golden Kingfisher by a jury. It was founded in 1967 and the first year was held in 1968. The festival was held in 1970 but the Golden Kingfisher wasn't awarded. The festival wasn't held again until 1990, when 12 films were awarded the Kingfisher to represent Czech and Slovak cinematography from the 1969-1990 period. Jiří Schmitzer (born 25 October 1949) is a Czech actor and musician, the son of actor Jiří Sovák. He is a four-time holder of the Czech Lion Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Biography Career Schmitzer graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1974, after which he performed at the ''Činoherní studio'' in Ústí nad Labem. From 1985, he was a member of the ''Studio Ypsilon'' ensemble in Liberec. Schmitzer made his television debut in 1966 with the series ''Eliška a její rod''. He first appeared onscreen in the 1967 production '' Kinoautomat'', considered the world's first interactive movie. He played prominent roles in such films as '' Marecek, Pass Me the Pen!'' Michal Suchánek (Czech Actor)
Michal Suchánek (born 25 July 1965) is a Czech actor, moderator and comedian. He is the writer and actor in the popular Czech and Slovak TV show ''Tele Tele'' along with his friend Richard Genzer. Suchánek was born in Jičín, but grew in Sobotka. He became a child actor at age 9. He later studied at Prague Conservatory. He acted in many famous theaters, like ''Národní divadlo'' and ''Činoherní klub'' and in number of films.
