Olaf Skramstad
Olaf Olsen Skramstad (8 March 1894 – 12 November 1956) was a Norwegian politician for the Communist Party. He was organized in a trade union and the Norwegian Labour Party in 1915. He later joined the Communist Party and was a member of Åmot municipal council from 1926 to 1933. He was the secretary in the Norwegian Union of Forestry and Land Workers from 1929 to 1931. In 1930 he was sentenced to 4 months of jail for participating in the Etna-Dokka labour conflict. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he was imprisoned in October 1941. He was incarcerated in Hamar from 26 October to 4 November, then in Grini concentration camp until 3 April 1942, then in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Olaf Bjerke
Olaf Bjerke (6 January 1893 – 21 September 1957) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Communist Party. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he was arrested on 10 September 1941 after the milk strike. He was imprisoned at Møllergata 19, then in Grini concentration camp, then in Sachsenhausen concentration camp until the end of World War II. The communist inmates formed a caucus in the camp, and Bjerke was among the leading members along with Kristian Mugaas, Johan Strand Johansen, Olaf Skramstad, Halvor Sørum and Erling Heiestad. A railway worker, Bjerke was involved in the trade union Norwegian Union of Railway Workers. As former chairman Ludvik Buland died in a concentration camp in 1945, Bjerke came close to being elected chairman at the national convention later that year, but lost the vote to the Social Democrat Marius Trana. Hedmark () was a county in Norway before 1 January 2020, bordering Trøndelag to the north, Oppland to the west, Akershus to the south, and Sweden to the east. The county administration is in Hamar. A prisoner (also known as an inmate or detainee) is a person who is deprived of liberty against their will. This can be by confinement, captivity, or forcible restraint. The term applies particularly to serving a prison sentence in a prison. English law "Prisoner" is a legal term for a person who is imprisoned. ''Arbeiderbevegelsens historie i Norge'' ( en, History of the Workers' Movement in Norway) is a six-volume work about the labour movement history of Norway. It was released between 1985 and 1990 by Tiden Norsk Forlag. It was not the first work about the history of the Norwegian labour movement. Einhart Lorenz released the two-volume work ''Arbeiderbevegelsens historie. En innføring. Norsk sosialisme i internasjonalt perspektiv'' in 1972 and 1974. This time, a large work was planned because of the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian Labour Party in 1987. As such, it is a party history combined with the history of other important parties as well as the trade union movement.
