Ola Olstad
Ola Olstad (22 February 1885 – 15 November 1969) was a Norwegian zoologist and polar explorer. Olstad Glacier on Peter I island is named after him. Olstad Glacier
Olstad Glacier () is a heavily crevassed glacier descending to the west coast of Peter I Island about 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) south of Tofte Glacier. Peter I Island was circumnavigated by the Norwegian whale catcher ''Odd I'' in January 1927 and was explored from the ''Norvegia'' in February 1929. The glacier is named for Ola Olstad, Norwegian zoologist who, transported by various whaling ships, conducted research in South Georgia, South Shetland Islands and Palmer Archipelago in 1927–28. Peter I Island
Peter I Island () is an uninhabited volcanic island in the Bellingshausen Sea, from continental Antarctica. It is territorial claims in Antarctica, claimed as a Dependent territory, dependency of Norway and, along with Bouvet Island and Queen Maud Land, composes one of the dependencies of Norway, three Norwegian dependent territories in the Antarctic and Subantarctic. The island measures approximately , with an area of ; its highest point is the Ultra-prominent peak, ultra-prominent, Lars Christensen Peak. Nearly all the island is covered by a glacier, and it is surrounded most of the year by Drift ice, pack ice, making it inaccessible during these times.
