Oktyabrsky Administrative District () was a district (''raion'') of the city of Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. The Oktyabrsky Administrative District was formed on 25 July 1947. In accordance with the decision of the District Council of Deputies of the city of Kaliningrad dated 29 June 2009 No. 140, a reorganization was carried out: the Oktyabrsky Administrative District were merged into the Tsentralny Administrative District Tsentralny District is the name of several administrative and municipal divisions in Russia. Raion
A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as ' district' in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast. However, in smaller USSR republics, it could be the primary level of administrative division. The classification system of inhabited localities in Russia and some other post-Soviet states has certain peculiarities compared with those in other countries.
