Okpo is a neighborhood in the city of Geoje in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The village is located on the eastern coast of Geoje Island and a center of the island. (), formerly known as Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME; ), is one of the "Big Three" shipbuilders of South Korea, along with Hyundai and Samsung. History On 21 February 2011, the A. P. Moller-Maersk ... (DSME) shipyard is located close to the town. A large portion of DSME employees live in Okpo, and DSME jackets are a common sight in the town at night. There are very few standalone houses in Okpo and most residential accommodation is fulfilled by high-rise apartments. Rent is high. There are a number of local accommodation agencies offering apartments for rent to incoming foreigners, as well as other supporting services. Okpo Land was an amusement park based in the outskirts of Okpo-dong, South Korea South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia. A more likely reasoning behind the closure of the park is said to have been due to financial issues deriving from an economic crisis that affected South Korea from 1997 through 1998. Geoje
Geoje (; ) is a Administrative divisions of South Korea, city located in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is located near Busan. Hanwha Ocean in Okpo and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in Gohyeon are both located on Geoje Island. The city also offers a wide range of tourist sights. Geoje Island
Geojedo (), or Geoje Island, is the principal island of Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is joined to land by two bridges from nearby Tongyeong. Gohyeon is the largest town on the island. Geojedo covers an area of , the second largest island in South Korea, after Jeju Island. The landscape features several peaks: Garasan, Gara (), Daegeum () and Guksabong (North Gyeongsang), Guksabong (). Geojedo is known for its rich deposits of granite. Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. (), formerly known as Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME; ), is one of the "Big Three" shipbuilders of South Korea, along with Hyundai and Samsung.
