Ohn Thwin
Ohn Thwin (; ; 1950 — 24 September 2022) was a Burmese army general and diplomat. He held the rank of brigadier general in the Myanmar Army and later served as ambassador to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and South Africa. A senior member of the Myanmar War Veterans Organization, he was regarded as a mentor to Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the deputy commander-in-chief of the Myanmar armed forces. He was assassinated in Yangon, Hlaing Township, Myanmar, in 2022 by anti-regime resistance fighters, becoming the highest-ranking former junta-linked figure killed since the 2021 military coup. He joined the Defence Services Academy (DSA), the country’s elite military training institution, and graduated as part of its 15th intake. Hlaing Township
Hlaing Township (, ), also spelt Hline, is an area of Yangon, Myanmar in the West Yangon District of Yangon Region. The township is entirely urban and comprises 16 wards. In 2000, the township's population was estimated to be about 125,000. Geography Hlaing Township is an urbanized township on mostly flat terrain on the east bank of the Hlaing River. Hlaing Township is bordered by Mayangon township and Thamaing Creek in the north, Mayangon township and Inya Lake in the east, Kamayut Township and Tadaphyu Stream in the south and the Hlaing River and Hlaingthaya Township in the west. National League For Democracy
The National League for Democracy (, ; Abbreviation, abbr. NLD; Burmese abbr. ဒီချုပ်) is a deregistered liberal democratic political party in Myanmar (formerly Burma). It became the country's ruling party after a landslide victory in the 2015 Myanmar general election, 2015 general election but was overthrown in a 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, coup d'état in February 2021 following another landslide 2020 Myanmar general election, election victory in 2020. Death is the end of life; the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Death eventually and inevitably occurs in all organisms. Mytel
Mytel is a major telecommunications company in Myanmar (Burma), as one of four national carriers. Mytel is operated as a joint venture between the Tatmadaw, Burmese military and Viettel, which is owned by Vietnam's Ministry of Defence (Vietnam), Ministry of National Defence. Mytel has been criticized and scrutinized for serving as a major source of revenue for the Burmese military. History Mytel was granted a telecommunications license on 12 January 2017. The company is operated as a joint venture, 49% owned by Viettel, which is controlled by the People's Army of Vietnam, Vietnamese military, 28% owned by Star High Public Company, which is owned by the Burmese military's Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC), and the remaining 23% owned by Myanmar National Telecom Holding Public Co Ltd, a consortium of local companies. Thein Aung (businessman)
Thein Aung (; 1965 — 4 November 2021) was a Burmese business executive who was the chief financial officer (CFO) of Myanmar's major telecommunications company, Mytel. He was a retired major in Myanmar Navy, held leadership positions in multiple military-owned ventures, including as the general manager of the conglomerate Myanmar Economic Corporation and its subsidiary Star High Co., Ltd. Career During his military career he was a personal assistant to the former Myanmar navy chief. He was also reportedly close to the current chief, Admiral Moe Aung, as they are both from the same batch at the military academy. He retired from the military service with the rank of major and joined the military businesses. Naypyidaw (), officially Romanization of Burmese, romanized as Nay Pyi Taw (NPT), is the capital city, capital and third-largest city of Myanmar.
