Ogdo Aksyonova
Ogdo (Yevdokiya) Yegorovna Aksyonova (russian: Огдо (Евдокия) Егоровна Аксёнова, 8 February 1936 in Boganida, Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, USSR – 14 February 1995 in Dudinka, Russia) was a Dolgan poet, the founder of Dolgan written literature. Biography Aksyonova was born into a family of reindeer herders and began writing poems in high school. In 1956 she was given the "Soviet Taimyr" award for her story, "Paul Chuprin". She became a cultural worker, and in 1967 was awarded a "Badge of Honor." She published works in '' Valery Kravets'' ("The Polar Truth") and in the popular magazine "Worker". Later she printed poems and tales in the Dolgan language The Dolgan language is a Turkic language with around 1,000 speakers, spoken in the Taymyr Peninsula in Russia. Valentin Dmitrievich Berestov (russian: Валенти́н Дми́триевич Бе́рестов; April 1, 1928 in Meshchovsk, Kaluga Oblast — April 15, 1998 in Moscow) was a Russian poet, lyricist, who wrote for both adults and children, translator, memoirist, Pushkin scholar, researcher. Biography Valentin Berestov was born on April 1, 1928 in Meshchovsk, Kaluga Oblast. Read the future poet learned in four years. In 1942, during World War II, Berestov’s family was evacuated to Tashkent. There, he was lucky to get acquainted with Nadezhda Mandelstam, who introduced him to Anna Akhmatova. Reindeer
Reindeer (in North American English, known as caribou if wild and ''reindeer'' if domesticated) are deer in the genus ''Rangifer''. For the last few decades, reindeer were assigned to one species, ''Rangifer tarandus'', with about 10 subspecies. A 2022 revision of the genus elevated five of the subspecies to species (see Taxonomy below). They have a circumpolar distribution and are native to the Arctic, sub-Arctic, tundra, boreal forest, and mountainous regions of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. Reindeer occur in both migratory and sedentary populations, and their herd sizes vary greatly in different regions. The tundra subspecies are adapted for extreme cold, and some are adapted for long-distance migration.
