''Offerings'' is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Typhoon. It was released in January 2018. This was the second studio album released under Roll Call Records. Morton described the album as being broken into four movements: Floodplains, Flood, Reckoning, and Afterparty. In a promotional tweet, the band describes the album as: Background In an interview with Sound of Boston, violinist Shannon Steele explained that the album came out of a long break from playing live shows and the changes in the band makeup, noting: "One of the first songs that Kyle brought to the group to start working out was Empiricist. It had such a heavy, grungy feel that we all were really enthusiastic about." The record was produced by Morton, and features some of his field recordings. Typhoon (American Band)
Typhoon is an American indie rock band based in Portland, Oregon. Led by singer-songwriter Kyle Morton since its founding in 2005, the band is anchored by bassist Toby Tanabe, guitarist Dave Hall, drummer Alex Fitch, and violinist/vocalist Shannon Steele and has been noted for its large size, boasting up to fourteen members in its past. They have released five albums and two EPs, also contributing to a number of compilations. Their most recent album, ''Underground Complex No. 1'' was released on April 15, 2022. History Typhoon was formed in Portland, Oregon, Portland in 2005 by high-school friends Kyle Morton, Toby Tanabe and Dave Hall who had relocated from Salem, Oregon. Roll Call Records is an independent record label in Los Angeles, California. President and founder Rob Abelow started the label in 2012 to release albums by artists on the management roster. Shortly thereafter, Roll Call Records partnered with Warner Music Group, Warner Music's independent label group. In 2017, Roll Call Records entered a partnership with The Orchard (company), The Orchard and House Arrest/Fat Possum Records, Fat Possum for distribution and services and opened its first international office in Brighton, UK. White Lighter
''White Lighter'' is the third studio album by American indie rock band Typhoon. It was released in August 2013 and was their first studio album after the band signed with Roll Call Records. Background Typhoon front-man, Kyle Morton, wrote and composed all the songs on the album. As a child, Morton had a life threatening case of Lyme disease and suffered multiple organ failures. Ultimately he received a kidney transplant from his father, but he lost most of his childhood to the illness. The album is a mixture of darkness hopelessness along with wanting for more and uplifting melodies. At a concert in Boston, Morton shared the story behind the song named after a dilemma that shares his name, Morton's fork, which Morton explained as being "paralyzed by two equally bad choices," a situation he faced in his own past. Recorded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was released without any prior announcements on January 22, 2021. This was the third studio album released under the Roll Call Records label. ''The 405'' was an independent online magazine based in London, operating from 2008 to 2019, concentrating on music and popular culture. It reported primarily on independent music, film, art, technology and fashion. History ''The 405'' was founded in 2008 by Oliver Primus, who remained the editor until the site closed down, and its first article was published on 28 April 2008. The glockenspiel ( ; or , : bells and : play) or bells is a percussion instrument consisting of pitched aluminum or steel bars arranged in a Musical keyboard, keyboard layout. This makes the glockenspiel a type of metallophone, similar to the vibraphone.
