Odivelas F.C.
Odivelas Futebol Clube is a sporting association in the city of Odivelas, in Greater Lisbon. It was founded in 1939 and has three football fields a gymnasium and other facilities. Odivelas F.C has won the Third Division in 1993. At youth level Odivelas is one of the best academies in the country with players like Sílvio Manuel Pereira and Roderick Miranda coming out of their ranks. Recent Years Odivelas F.C. is currently in a massive financial crisis with lack of funds to support the team. This resulted in a couple of bad seasons that saw Odivelas slip from Second Division to the Regional Leagues. Last season, Odivelas was out of the National League system for the first time in many years achieving a modest 8th place in Lisbon Regional League. But the worst problem last season was play home-matches away from Estádio Arnaldo Dias. Odivelas
Odivelas () is a municipality in the Lisbon metropolitan area, Portugal. The municipality is located 8 km northwest of the center of Lisbon. Predominantly a residential suburb, the population in 2021 was 148 034, in an area of 26.54 km2 (one of the smallest municipalities in Portugal). Geography Situated in the old district of Lisbon (historical Estremadura province), the municipality of Odivelas is in the metropolitan area of Lisbon, bordering the municipalities of Loures, Sintra, Amadora and Lisbon. The region is situated in an extensive plain that extends from Pontinha to Póvoa de Santo Adrião, running through Odivelas and Olival Basto. Grande Lisboa () or Greater Lisbon is a Portuguese NUTS II and III region and subregion. Roderick Jefferson Gonçalves Miranda (born 30 March 1991), known as Roderick, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Melbourne Victory in the A-League Men, where he also serves as captain. Having started his professional career at Benfica, he made 103 Primeira Liga appearances mainly for Rio Ave as well as Famalicão. Luís Manuel Rodrigues Alves (born 28 September 1971) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a forward. Football career Born in Lisbon, Alves spent the majority of his career playing for third division clubs.
