Odin raced in two Olympic Games, Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988, finishing 11th & 28th in the Women's Road Race. Jaishree Odin is a literary scholar who is the director and a professor of the Program of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Hawaii. Her research relates to cultural studies of science and technology, literary and political ecology, ecology and ethics, system's ecology, and eco-literacy. Her work ranges from German philosophy and the feminist angle to mysticism. She has also considered the current relevance of Shaivite theories of higher consciousness. Jean Odin
Jean Ernest Sébastien Odin (20 January 1889 – 16 October 1975) was a French politician. Odin was born in Bordeaux, where his father worked as a ship's captain. At a young age Odin moved to Noumea, New Caledonia, where his father had been transferred, and attended school there. Upon his return to France, Odin became a lawyer's clerk. Receiving a bursary, he resumed his studies and qualified as a lawyer. By 1917, he was an advocate in Bordeaux, and later in Paris. He ran unsuccessfully as a Radical in the 1919 and 1924 elections to represent Gironde in the Chamber of Deputies, but succeeded in 1928. In 1932 he was elected to the Senate. He served as a member, and then as secretary, of the Senate committee which dealt with French Navy affairs. Jean Odin was one of the eighty who voted against granting special powers to Marshal Philippe Pétain on 10 July 1940. His mandate expired on 31 December 1941, ending his political career. Jean-Marie Odin, C.M., (February 25, 1800 – May 25, 1870) was a French-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as the second archbishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans from 1861 to 1870. Odin previously served as the first vicar apostolic of Texas from 1841 to 1847 and as the first bishop of the Diocese of Galveston in Texas from 1847 to 1861. He has been called the father of the Catholic Church in Texas. Odin Elsford Stanley Langen (January 5, 1913 – July 6, 1976) was an American politician from the state of Minnesota. He served six terms in the United States House of Representatives from 1959 to 1971. Early life and career Odin Langen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
