Old Norse
Old Norse, Old Nordic, or Old Scandinavian, is a stage of development of North Germanic languages, North Germanic dialects before their final divergence into separate Nordic languages. Old Norse was spoken by inhabitants of Scandinavia and their Viking expansion, overseas settlements and chronologically coincides with the Viking Age, the Christianization of Scandinavia and the consolidation of Scandinavian kingdoms from about the 7th to the 15th centuries. Odd Nordstoga (born 10 December 1972) is a folk singer, musician, actor and editor from Vinje in Telemark, Norway. In 2004, he went from relative obscurity to becoming the country's biggest selling recording artist, with the phenomenal success of his first solo album proper, ''"Luring"''. The album, a fusion of pop and Norwegian folk music, has sold more than 160,000 copies in Norway to date and earned him several Spellemannsprisen awards. Odd Thomas (character)
Odd Thomas is a fictional character who first appeared in Dean Koontz's 2003 novel of the same name, '' Odd Thomas''. He is a twenty-year-old man who lives in the fictional desert town of Pico Mundo, California, and is able to see the spirits of the dead. He is able to make himself heard to them but they cannot speak to him, although they may make signs or mouth words. This fact complicates much of the books. The ghost of Elvis Presley was once a constant companion to him, until the end of '' Brother Odd'', at which time Elvis moved on and the ghost of Frank Sinatra became Odd's new companion. Odd Øyen
Odd Toralf Øyen (8 September 1914 – 3 January 1997) was a Norwegian resistance member and anaesthesiological physician. Early life and World War II He was born in Oslo as a son of Lieutenant Colonel Toralf Øyen (1878–1963) and Elia Haugros (1876–1951). He took his examen artium at Riis in 1934. He enrolled in medicine studies in 1936, but his studies were interrupted by World War II. He participated in the Battle of Midtskogen on 10 April 1940, one day after Germany invaded Norway. He had finished basic officer training in 1936, and holding the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1940 he continued to participate in battles north of Midtskogen, in Østerdalen. Odd Arne Westad FBA (born 5 January 1960) is a Norwegian historian specializing in the Cold War and contemporary East Asian history. He is the Elihu Professor of History and Global Affairs at Yale University, where he teaches in the Yale History Department and in the Jackson School of Global Affairs. Previously, Westad held the S.T. Lee Chair of US-Asia Relations at Harvard University, teaching in the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He served as the County Governor of Nordland county from 1983 until 1991 and he was a member of the Parliament of Norway from 1973 to 1985. Odd Strand (21 August 1925 – 18 May 2008) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Aure, but grew up in Trondheim. During the German occupation of Norway he was a member of Milorg. He later studied at the University of Oslo, graduating as cand.philol. and later magister in political science in 1953. He started a career in government ministries and agencies, and was appointed director of the Norwegian Central Information Service upon its creation in 1965. Odd Georg Sagør (born 2 July 1918 in Meldal, died 24 June 1993) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was Minister of Consumer Affairs and Administration from 1973 to 1976, during the second cabinet Bratteli.
