October Tour
The October Tour was a concert tour by the Irish rock band U2 that took place in 1981 and 1982 to support the band's second studio album, ''October'', which was released in October 1981. Itinerary The tour followed a similar pattern to the previous tour and consisted of five legs, three in Europe and two in North America. The first leg began in Ireland in the August 1981 and ended in Berlin at the start of November, in total, 33 concerts were held. Soon after the first European leg, U2 travelled to North America to play 23 shows over the course of a month. Another European leg was held between December 1981 and February 1982 before heading back to the USA to fulfill the longest leg of the tour. The fourth leg ran from February through to April and was made up of 32 shows, considerably less than the European and American legs of the ''Boy'' tour. ''October'' is the second studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 12 October 1981 by Island Records, and was produced by Steve Lillywhite. The album was lyrically inspired by the memberships of Bono, the Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. in a Christian group called the Shalom Fellowship, and consequently it contains spiritual and religious themes. Their involvement with Shalom Fellowship led them to question the relationship between the Christian faith and the "rock and roll" lifestyle, and threatened to break up the band. After completing the third leg of the Boy Tour in February 1981, U2 began to write new material for ''October'', entering the recording studio in July 1981. Just as they did for their 1980 debut, ''Boy (album), Boy'', the band recorded at Windmill Lane Studios with Lillywhite producing. Paris Theatre
The Paris Theatre (also known as the Paris Studios) was originally a cinema located at 12 Lower Regent Street in central London which was converted into a studio by the BBC for radio broadcasts requiring an audience. It was used for several decades by the BBC as the main venue for comedy programmes broadcast on BBC Radios 2 and 4. The venue had a capacity of under 400 and a stage roughly twelve inches from the floor, giving it an intimate feeling helpful for radio comedy with an audience. Shows recorded there included panel game shows such as '' I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue'', comedy such as '' Hi Gang!'', ''Dad's Army'', ''The Goon Show'', '' Don't Stop Now - It's Fundation'' and non-audience shows such as ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy''. Rock City is a music venue and nightclub located in Nottingham, England. It is owned by venue operator and concert promoter DHP Family. It opened in December 1980, first hosting The Undertones, and has gone on to host some of the biggest names in alternative music, as well as maintaining a number of weekly club nights. Odell Castle
Odell Castle was an 11th-century castle in the village of Odell, in the county of Bedfordshire, England. The land where Odell Castle stood was originally owned by Levenot, a thegn of King Edward the Confessor. At the time, the land and village were called Wahull. After the Norman invasion, William the Conqueror gave the lands, manor, and title, to Walter de Flandrensis (circa 1068). Walter was titled the Baron of Wahull, and was thus recorded as Walter de Wahul. De Wahul built a motte-and-bailey castle, with a stone keep, on the land. The family lived here for some 400 years. In 1542, the title died out with the absence of a male heir and came into the possession of 17-year-old Agnes Woodhall, a descendant of de Wahul's.
