October 2016 Hamas Government
The Hamas government of October 2016 is a faction of the Palestinian government based in Gaza and is effectively the third Hamas-dominated government in the Gaza Strip since the takeover of Gaza by Hamas. On October 17, 2016, the Supreme Administrative Committee began the process of building progressive ministries in Gaza, reshuffled active ministries and repositioned 16 deputy ministers and director generals in government institutions. The government in Gaza is composed of deputy ministers, governors-general and other high-level officials linked directly to the Ramallah administration. Initially, it was speculated that the formation of the Hamas government in 2016 was an attempt by Ismail Haniyeh to return to full Hamas control of Gaza. As part of government reform, it was decided to expand the Ministry of Planning. Ismail Haniyeh
Ismail Haniyeh (, ; 29 January 1962 – 31 July 2024) was a Palestinian politician who served as third chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau from May 2017 until Assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, his assassination in July 2024. Fathi Ahmad Hammad
Fathi Ahmad Hamad (, also spelled Fathi Hammad; born 3 January 1961) is a Palestinian politician and member of the Hamas political bureau. He was Interior Minister in the Hamas-administered Gaza Strip from 2009 to 2014. Biography In 1983, Hammad joined the Muslim Brotherhood. He is the founder and Vice President of Dar Al Quran. From 1988 to 1994, Hamad was in Israeli prison. He was also arrested three times by the Palestinian Authority and spent 2 years in Palestinian jails. Hamad became a Hamas-affiliated member of the Palestinian Legislative Council in 2006, representing his home town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. Ihab Al-Ghussein
Ihab al-Ghussein (; 12 May 1979 – 7 July 2024) was a Palestinian politician who served as the ''de facto'' spokesman of the Ministry of Interior (State of Palestine), Interior Ministry of the Palestinian Authority based in the Hamas-administered Gaza Strip. The Interior Minister in the Gaza Strip is an office created in June 2007, following the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip, that left the Ramallah-based version of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) as the Palestinian leadership in only the occupied West Bank and a Hamas-led government in control of the Gaza Strip. The Minister of Finance () is the head of the Government of Palestine's branch that is in charge of finance. The minister deals with launching audits, collecting tax from Palestinian businesses and overseeing financial aid directed to the Palestinian National Authority.
