Obstructing The Field
Obstructing the field is one of the ten methods of dismissing a batsman in the sport of cricket. Either batsman can be given out if he wilfully attempts to obstruct or distract the fielding side by word or action. It is Law 37 of the Laws of cricket, and is a rare way for a batsman to be dismissed; in the history of cricket, there has been only two instances in Test matches, nine in One Day International (ODI) matches, and six in Twenty20 International matches. There have also been seven instances in Test cricket, and two in ODIs, where a batsman has been dismissed handled the ball, a mode of dismissal now folded into obstructing the field. One modern pattern of obstruction in limited overs cricket occurs when a batsman thinks that he is going to be run out and blocks the ball with his bat, or changes his course while running between wickets to block the ball. Dismissal (cricket)
In cricket, a dismissal occurs when a batting (cricket), batter's innings is brought to an end by the opposing team. Other terms used are the batter being out, the batting side losing a wicket, and the fielding side (and often the bowler) taking a wicket. The Cricket ball, ball becomes Dead ball#Cricket, dead (meaning that no further runs can be scored off that Delivery (cricket), delivery), and the dismissed batter must leave the Cricket field, field of play for the rest of their team's innings, to be replaced by a team-mate. Sheffield Cricket Club
The Sheffield Cricket Club was founded in the 18th century and soon began to play a key role in the development of cricket in northern England. It was the direct forerunner of Yorkshire County Cricket Club and some of the teams fielded by Sheffield were styled Yorkshire. Mushfiqur Rahim (; born 9 May 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He is a right-handed middle-order Batting (cricket), batter and wicket-keeper in the national team. New Zealand Cricket Team In Bangladesh In 2023–24
The New Zealand men's cricket team toured Bangladesh in September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. The International Cricket Council (ICC) finalized the bilateral series in a press release. The matches were used as preparation for both teams ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Following the World Cup, the New Zealand team returned in November 2023 to play two Test matches. The Test series formed part of 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. Initially, New Zealand was scheduled to play a two-day practice match in Sylhet before the test series. Catch (cricket)
Caught is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket. A batsman is out caught if the batsman hits the ball, from a legitimate delivery, with the bat, and the ball is caught by the bowler or a fielder before it hits the ground. If the catch is taken by the wicket-keeper, then informally it is known as caught behind or caught at the wicket. A catch by the bowler is known as caught and bowled. This has nothing to do with the dismissal bowled but is rather a shorthand for saying the catcher and bowler are the same player. In cricket, the wicket-keeper is the Cricket player, player on the fielding (cricket), fielding side who stands behind the wicket, ready to stop Delivery (cricket), deliveries that pass the batsman, and take a Caught, catch, Stumped, stump the batsman out, or run out a batsman when occasion arises.
