Observatorio Metro Station (Mexico City)
Observatorio is an under-reconstruction station on Mexico City Metro Line 1. It is located in the Álvaro Obregón borough of Mexico City, west of the city centre. When operational it is the western terminus of Line 1. Before its shutdown for reconstruction, the station had an average ridership of 72,296 passengers per day, making it the eighth busiest station in the network. The station will become the terminal station of Line 12. The station will also connect with Observatorio railway station of the El Insurgente commuter rail system. Since 9 November 2023, part of the Line has remained closed for modernization work on the tunnel and the line's technical equipment. Observatorio metro station was mostly demolished by December 2023. The station will be reconstructed to facilitate the access between the Line 1, Line 12 and the El Insurgente stations. Metro Chabacano
Chabacano (; Mexican Spanish ) is a Mexico City Metro transfer station in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City. It is served by Lines 2 (the Blue Line), 8 (the Green Line) and 9 (the Brown Line). It is a combined underground and at-grade station whose platforms are distributed into two side platforms and one island platform—the Spanish solution layout. Chabacano station is located between San Antonio Abad and Viaducto stations on Line 2, between Obrera and La Viga stations on Line 8, and between Lázaro Cárdenas and Jamaica stations on Line 9. It serves the '' colonias'' (neighborhoods) of Ampliación Asturias, Obrera, and Vista Alegre. Metro Tacubaya
Tacubaya is a station on Lines 1, 7 and 9 of the Mexico City Metro system. It is located in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, west of the city centre. In 2019, the station had a total average ridership of 85,800 passengers per day, making it the fifth busiest station in the network. Name and pictogram The station takes its name from the neighborhood it is located in: Tacubaya. The origin of this zone of the city can be traced back to an Aztec settlement, which back then was at the edge of Lake Texcoco. The name Tacubaya is a Spanish barbarism that derived from the Nahuatl ''Atlacuihuayan'', that means "where water joins". Therefore, the station pictogram represents a water bowl, that also resembles the glyph of the Aztec settlement of Tacubaya found at the Codex Mendoza. Mexico City Metro Line 9
Mexico City Metro Line 9 is one of the 12 metro lines built in Mexico City, Mexico. General information Line 9 was the 8th metro line to be built in the network, built between 1985 and 1988. (Mexico City Metro Line 8, Line 8 started operations until 1994). It is identified by the color dark brown, and runs from East to West in an almost straight fashion. It was built in order to support Line 1, providing a redistribution alternative for east–west commuters. It starts in the multi-line transfer station Pantitlán metro station, Pantitlán and ends at the western neighborhood of Tacubaya, both stations also served by Mexico City Metro Line 1, Line 1. Tacubaya
Tacubaya is a working-class area of west-central Mexico City, in the borough of Miguel Hidalgo, consisting of the '' colonia'' Tacubaya proper and adjacent areas in other colonias, with San Miguel Chapultepec sección II, Observatorio, Daniel Garza and Ampliación Daniel Garza being also considered part of Tacubaya. The area has been inhabited since the fifth century BCE.
