Obrad Gluščević
Obrad Gluščević (17 January 1913 – 5 September 1980) was a Croatian film director. He wrote and directed around twenty documentaries, five feature films and two television series. Born in Metković, Gluščević first began acting in theatres in nearby Dubrovnik. His first notable works were documentary and live-action shorts made in the 1950s and 1960s, some of which won awards at film festivals in Venice, Cannes, Oberhausen and Belgrade. In the mid-1960s Gluščević turned to making feature films, and made three comedies which depict life in rural Dalmatia: ''Lito vilovito'' (1964), '' Čovik od svita'' (1965) and '' Goli čovik'' (1968). After that he directed two children's films ('' Vuk samotnjak'' in 1972 and '' Kapetan Mikula Mali'' in 1974). Metković () is a town in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the river Neretva and on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vladimir Nazor Award
The Vladimir Nazor Award () is a Croatian prize for arts and culture established in 1959, and awarded every year by the country's Ministry of Culture. Named after the writer Vladimir Nazor (1876–1949), the prize is awarded to Croatian artists for achievements in six different fields of art and culture. In each category two separate prizes are awarded: one for life achievement, in recognition of their career in their respective field; and another one, commonly referred to as the "annual award," for a single piece of outstanding work in the winner's field, created over the previous 12 months. The winners for the preceding year are usually announced around May, and the prizes are handed out in an official ceremony held around in June or July, loosely coinciding with 19 June, the anniversary of Nazor's death in 1949.
