Ob Jezeru Stadium
Ob Jezeru City Stadium ( sl, Mestni stadion Ob jezeru; literally 'Lakeside City Stadium') is a multi-use stadium in Velenje, Slovenia. It is used mostly for Association football, football matches and is the home ground of NK Rudar Velenje. The stadium is also used for athletics. Built in 1955, it was renovated in 1992 when a covered grandstand was built. In 1998, the stadium received floodlights. It has a capacity for 1,864 spectators. The City Municipality of Velenje (; sl, Mestna občina Velenje) is one of twelve city municipalities of Slovenia. It lies in eastern Slovenia and was established in 1994. NK Rudar Velenje
Nogometni klub Rudar Velenje ( en, Rudar Velenje Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Rudar Velenje or simply Rudar Velenje, is a Slovenian football club from Velenje which competes in the Slovenian Second League. History The club was founded in August 1948. At first they played in local MNZ Celje league, until they qualified for the Slovenian Republic League in 1953. Two years later, on 3 July 1955, Rudar's home stadium Ob Jezeru was opened and the club moved to its current home. After the short crisis the club returned to the Slovenian league in 1962. For the 1974–75 season the club hired a professional coach Živko Stakič and became Slovenian champions in 1977. Rudar therefore qualified for the Yugoslav Second League, where they played until 1982.
