Oakland Activities Association
Oakland Activities Association is a Southeast Michigan high school athletics conference. It is made up of 23 schools located largely throughout Oakland County, with a single member located in Wayne County History The Oakland Activities Association was first formed with schools from an amalgamation of different leagues. The G.O.A.L. (Greater Oakland Activities League), Metro Suburban Activities Association and the Southeastern Michigan Association (plus one independently associated school) were all merged in 1994 into the Oakland Activities Association, with the goal being to form a more geographically-centered league. Berkley High School
Berkley High School is a public high school in Berkley, Michigan. Berkley High's colors are maroon and blue and the school's mascot is a bear. Berkley is well known for its college prep courses, high standardized test scores, and teachers and administrators. BHS offers 20+ Advanced Placement courses at its campus. Additional Advanced Placement courses and electives are available to students who elect to attend the Center for Advanced Studies and the Arts (CASA), an afternoon consortium school run jointly by Berkley and six neighboring school districts, or the Oakland Schools Technical Campus (OSTC), a vocational education center run by Oakland Schools. Lamphere Public Schools
Lamphere Public Schools is a public school district in Metro Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan, serving portions of Madison Heights and Troy. It serves the portion of Madison Heights roughly north or Gardenia Avenue, while Madison District Public Schools serves the southern portion. History Source: The first Lamphere School was built in 1928 to serve kindergarten through 12th grades. The school made headlines in fall 1937, when it refused to accept 40 unhoused students who were living in a tent city at the corner of Thirteen Mile Rd. and John R. Rd. The tent city was created by Oakland County as disaster relief for families suffering from the Great Depression. The district claimed it had no resources to accommodate the students and requested three funding proposals to voters, which were denied. Clawson Public Schools is a public school district in Metro Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan, serving the city of Clawson. Covering , Clawson Public Schools is the seventh-smallest school district in Michigan by land area. Avondale High School is a public high school in Auburn Hills, Michigan, United States. It serves grades 9-12 for the Avondale School District. History The Auburn Heights School, located at the southwest corner of Waukegan Street and Squirrel Road, housed the first high school in the area as of 1937.This school was originally built in 1924 and housed all grades up to eight. Population growth led to a merger in 1947 with other elementary school districts, creating Avondale School District. Oak Park High School is a public high school located in Oak Park, Michigan, an inner suburb of Detroit. The school is part of the Oak Park School district. It serves about 1,130 students in grades 9 to 12 from Oak Park and surrounding communities around Detroit. In 2010, as a part of the Federal School Improvement Framework, the school was identified by the State of Michigan as one of 92 schools with the lowest achieving, according to performance on Michigan standardized tests. Eligible schools were invited to apply for a grant of up to 6 million dollars over three years to support efforts to raise academic achievement. Pontiac Central High School
Pontiac Central High School was one of two public high schools in Pontiac, Michigan, United States. It had been an accredited high school from September 4, 1849, until its closing on June 12, 2009. By December 2008 administrators had plans to consolidate it with Pontiac Northern High School to form Pontiac High School. Brandon High School is a public secondary school located in Ortonville, Michigan. History The now defunct Varsity Hockey team won 4 regional championships in a row. Campus The current building was completed in 1982. Brandon High School's two previous incarnations are still standing and in use. The 1973 incarnation became a middle school, and is now Fletcher Intermediate School. That building replaced the 1949 Brandon School, which became Howard T.
