The OM System OM-3 is a retro-styled mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera produced by OM Digital Solutions on the Micro Four Thirds system. It is styled on the original Olympus OM-1 35mm camera. It features a Creative Dial as found on the Digital PEN-F cameras for choosing colour modes and filters, and is weather sealed to IP53 standards. OM Digital Solutions Corporation (OMDS) (OMデジタルソリューションズ) is a Japanese manufacturer of opto-digital products for business and consumer use, branded OM System. The company acquired the camera, audio recorder and binocular product divisions of the manufacturer Olympus in January 2021. History On 30 September 2020, Olympus announced that it had entered into an agreement with financial investor Japan Industrial Partners (JIP) to transfer the Olympus Imaging division to a newly established wholly-owned subsidiary of Olympus. This subsidiary was named OM Digital Solutions. On 1 January 2021, 95% of the shares in OM Digital Solutions were transferred to OJ Holdings, Ltd, a specially established subsidiary of JIP. Olympus retained ownership of the remaining 5%. In 2021, OM Digital Solutions reported that all its products would be rebranded from Olympus to OM System. Olympus PEN-F
The Olympus PEN-F is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera in the micro four thirds, Micro Four Thirds system, released in 2016. It is the part of the Olympus Pen, digital PEN series. The PEN-F pays tribute to the similarly named Olympus Pen F, PEN F half-frame 35mm film SLR camera from 1963. The PEN-F was the first Olympus camera to feature the new, 20 megapixel Four Thirds sensor, which made Micro Four Thirds more competitive on the market. This sensor later found its way into the Olympus OM-D series, OM-D series as well, featured in professional cameras like the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, E-M1 Mark III. The PEN-F had an Electronic viewfinder, electronic viewfinder, which was a new feature in the digital PEN range, and it is still the only PEN camera to have it.
