O.P. Anderson Aquavit is a Swedish Distilled beverage, spirit of the akvavit type, presented in 1891 for the Gothenburg Exhibition Fair under the name "Gammal Fin 1ma Aquavit". The firm producing it was called ''O.P. Anderson & Son i Göteborg'', which has later given name to this brand of akvavit. Göteborg is the Swedish name for Gothenburg. O.P. Anderson Aquavit is the oldest and most sold akvavit of Sweden, spiced with caraway, anise and fennel and stored on Oak (wine), oak barrels for eight months. The spices are the same in the akvavits Gammaldags Norrlands Akvavit from 1929 and Skåne Akvavit from 1931, but Norrlands has sherry added to it and Skåne is blander. ''Akvavit'' or ''aquavit'' () is a distilled spirit that is principally produced in Scandinavia, where it has been produced since the 15th century. ''Akvavit'' is distilled from grain or potatoes and is flavoured with a variety of spices and herbs. It is also popular in Northern Germany. ''Akvavit'' gets its distinctive flavour from spices and herbs, and the dominant flavour must (according to the European Union) come from a distillate of caraway and/or dill seed. Skåne Akvavit is a Swedish spiced spirit brand of the akvavit type. It is named for the province of Scania, which is called Skåne in Swedish. Skåne Akvavit was first presented in 1931 as a less spiced version of O.P. Anderson. Skåne Akvavit is spiced with caraway, anise and fennel. Skåne Akvavit is produced at the V&S Vin & Sprit AB distillery in Sundsvall, Västernorrland County, Sweden. Sherry ( ) is a fortified wine produced from white grapes grown around the city of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, Spain. Anora Group Plc () is a Nordic distilled beverage and wine company. It was formed in 2021 as a result of the merger of Norway's Arcus (company), Arcus Group and Finland's Altia Group.
