Nyshche
Nyshche () is a Village#Ukraine, selo (formerly a shtetl) on the Strypa River, upriver from the town of Zboriv in the historic region of Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia in Ukraine. It is situated in the Ternopil Raion of the Ternopil Oblast in western Ukraine. Nyshche belongs to Zboriv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Until 18 July 2020, Nyshche belonged to Zboriv Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ternopil Oblast to three. The area of Zboriv Raion was merged into Ternopil Raion. Strypa River
The Strypa (; ) is a river in Ternopil Oblast, Western Ukraine. It is a left-bank tributary of the Dniester that flows southward for 147 km through Ternopil oblast and drains a basin area of (12% territory of Ternopil Oblast). The river is generally approximately 30 m wide and has a sharply defined valley. Its waters are used for industry and agriculture. A small water reservoir has been built on it. Samuel Roth
Samuel Roth (1893 - July 3rd, 1974) was an American publisher and writer. He was the plaintiff in the landmark 1957 case '' Roth v. United States'', in which the United States Supreme Court redefined the constitutional test for determining which constitutes obscene material unprotected by the First Amendment. It became a template for the liberalizing First Amendment decisions in the 1960s. Roth spent nine years in jail on state and federal obscenity convictions, spending eight years in Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary. Background Roth, a Jew, was born in 1893 in Nuszcze, then Galicia, now in Ukraine. His Hebrew name was "Mshilliam" (Meshulam). Zboriv Raion () was a raion (district) in Ternopil Oblast in western Ukraine. Its capital (political), administrative center was Zboriv. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ternopil Oblast to three. The area of Zboriv Raion was merged into Ternopil Raion. In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. Zboriv
Zboriv (, ; ; ; ) is a small List of cities in Ukraine, city in Ternopil Raion, Ternopil Oblast, western Ukraine. It is located in the historical region of Galicia (Central Europe), Galicia. A raion (; ), often translated as district, is the second-level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, administrative division in Ukraine.
