Nuvola Apps Designer
Nuvola is a free software icon set under the GNU LGPL 2.1 license, created by David Vignoni. Originally created for desktop environments like KDE and GNOME, it is also available in packages for Windows and Mac. The final version, 1.0, contains almost 600 icons. The default set is in the PNG graphics format; an SVG version is also available. The application icons, in particular, colourfully represent a wide variety of commonplace and easily recognised objects. Uses Besides KDE and GNOME, ''Nuvola'' is used by the Pidgin instant messaging client, the Amarok media player and the KeePass password manager. Nuvola is the default icon set on the OpenLab GNU/Linux distribution. It is also used for many purposes on Wikimedia Foundation projects. In computing, an icon is a pictogram or ideogram displayed on a computer screen in order to help the user navigate a computer system. It can serve as an electronic hyperlink or file shortcut to access the program or data. The user can activate an icon using a mouse, pointer, finger, or voice commands. Their placement on the screen, also in relation to other icons, may provide further information to the user about their usage. In computing, a theme is a preset package containing graphical appearance and functionality details. A theme usually comprises a set of shapes and colors for the graphical control elements, the window decoration and the window. Tango Desktop Project
The Tango Desktop Project was an Open-source software, open-source initiative to create a set of design guidelines and to provide a consistent user experience for applications on desktop environments. The project created a set of Icon (computing), icons known as the Tango Icon Library and that were described as a "proof of concept". The Tango Desktop Project was a project of freedesktop.org, and was closely linked with other freedesktop.org guidelines, such as the Standard Icon Theming Specification. Palette (computing)
In computer graphics, a palette is the set of available colors from which an image can be made. In some systems, the palette is fixed by the hardware design, and in others it is dynamic, typically implemented via a color lookup table (CLUT), a correspondence table in which selected colors from a certain color space's color reproduction range are assigned an index, by which they can be referenced. By referencing the colors via an index, which takes less information than needed to describe the actual colors in the color space, this technique aims to reduce data usage, including processing, transfer bandwidth, RAM usage, and storage. The Oxygen Project is a project created to give a visual refresh to KDE Plasma Workspaces. It consists of a set of computer icons, a window decoration for KWin, widget toolkit Theme (computing), themes for GTK and Qt (framework), Qt, two themes for Plasma Workspaces, and a TrueType font family. The Oxygen theme set was used by default for Plasma Workspaces in most Linux distributions, like Fedora (operating system), Fedora, Kubuntu, and openSUSE.
