Nur Hossain Kasemi
Nur Hossain Qasmi (10 January 1945 – 13 December 2020) was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, politician, educator, religious speaker and spiritual figure. He was the secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh, vice-president of Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh, senior vice-president of Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh and Shaykhul Hadith and rector of Jamia Madania Baridhara (Dhaka) and Jamia Sobhania Mahmud (Nagar). Ishaq Faridi
Ishaq Faridi (5 June 1957 – 5 June 2005) was a late 20th-century Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, author, and politician known for promoting the use of the Bengali language in Qawmi madrasas. He held the position of Director and Sheikh al-Hadith at Sheikh Januruddin R. Darul Qur'an. He was also associated with political and religious groups such as Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh, and Islami Oikya Jote. 2013 Shapla Square Protests
The Shapla Square protests, also known as the Siege of Dhaka, Operation Shapla, and Operation Flash Out by security forces, was the protests and subsequent shootings of protesters on 5 and 6 May 2013 at Shapla Square, located in the Motijheel district, the main financial area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The protests were organized by the Islamist advocacy group, Hefazat-e Islam, who were demanding the enactment of a blasphemy law. The government responded to the protests by cracking down on the protesters using a combined force drawn from the police, Rapid Action Battalion and paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh to drive the protesters out of Shapla Square. Wifaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh (, ) is the largest Qawmi madrasa education board in Bangladesh. it was founded in April 1978 after a seminar of Islamic scholars. This organization of Qawmi Madrasas of Bangladesh is also known as the "Wifaqul Madaris" (also transliterated as Wifaqul ul Madaris). It is an extension of the process that formed the Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan in 1957. "Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasah Education Board" is the largest federation of Islamic seminaries in Bangladesh. Muhammad Salim Qasmi
Muhammad Salim Qasmi Siddiqi (8 January 1926 — 14 April 2018) was an Indian Muslim scholar who co-founded the Darul Uloom Waqf in Deoband, India and served as its first rector. He was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. He received the fourth Shah Waliullah Award and was honoured with the Mark of Distinction from the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. Birth and education Muhammad Salim Qasmi was born on 8 January 1926 at Deoband, India into the Siddiqi family of Nanauta. He was the eldest son of Muhammad Tayyib Qasmi. Syed Fakhruddin Ahmad
Syed Fakhruddin Ahmad (1889-1972) was an Indian Sunni Muslim scholar and jurist who served as the Principal of Madrasa Shahi, and the sixth President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. He was a professor of hadith at the Darul Uloom Deoband. Biography Syed Fakhruddin Ahmad studied Quran with his mother and Persian with family elders. Aged eight, he began studying Arabic grammar and syntax. Anzar Shah Kashmiri
Anzar Shah Kashmiri (1927–2008) was an Indian Islamic scholar who established the Jamia Imam Anwar Shah and co-founded the Darul Uloom Waqf in Deoband. He was an alumnus of the Darul Uloom Deoband. He was youngest son of Hanafi scholar Anwar Shah Kashmiri. Biography Anzar Shah Kashmiri was born at Deoband on 6 December 1927. His father Anwar Shah Kashmiri was a scholar of ahadith. Mahmood Hasan Gangohi (July 1907 – 2 September 1996) was an Indian mufti, Islamic scholar and former Head Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband and Mazahir Uloom, Saharanpur. He was the most senior disciple of Zakariyya Kandhlawi. Among his notable disciples are Abul Qasim Nomani, Rahmatullah Mir Qasmi and Ebrahim Desai. Zakariyya Kandhlawi
Zakariyya Kandhlawi (; 3 February 1898 – 24 May 1982) was a mid-twentieth-century traditionalist Sunni scholar and an authority in the study of hadith, also known as Sheikh al-Hadith, hailing from India. He was an influential member and ideologist of Tablighi Jamaat and the author of the Fada'il series, which is a crucial propagation literature for the movement. Hanafi
The Hanafi school or Hanafism is the oldest and largest Madhhab, school of Islamic jurisprudence out of the four schools within Sunni Islam. It developed from the teachings of the Faqīh, jurist and theologian Abu Hanifa (), who systemised the use of reasoning ().
