Nu'Bia
Nubia is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics publications and related media, commonly as an ally of Wonder Woman. Historically, she is DC Comics' first black female superhero. Originally introduced in 1973 as Wonder Woman's long-lost fraternal twin sister and Queen of the Floating Island, today the character is depicted as one of the hero's oldest and closest friends. Created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck, Nubia debuted in 1973's ''Wonder Woman'' #204 and appeared intermittently throughout Wonder Woman's Bronze Age adventures. In modern comic stories, Nubia is depicted as an Amazon contemporary of Wonder Woman and the successor to Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta as queen of the Amazon nation of Themyscira. Raised alongside each other, she and Diana regard each other as "sisters". Amazons (DC Comics)
The Amazons of DC Comics are a race of warrior women who exist as part of Greek mythology. They live on Paradise Island, later known as Themyscira, an isolated location in the middle of the ocean where they are hidden from Man's World (the rest of the world). Depending on the origin story, they are the creation of Aphrodite or were created from clay by a coterie of Olympian gods over three thousand years ago to serve as their messengers to the world in the name of peace and justice. For centuries, the women thrived in safety and security apart from a hostile, male-dominated world. As long as Amazons remain on Themyscira they do not age. Wonder Woman (comic Book)
''Wonder Woman'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero Wonder Woman and occasionally other superheroes as its protagonist. The character first appeared in '' All Star Comics'' #8 (cover dated December 1941), later featured in ''Sensation Comics'' (January 1942) series and gaining her own solo title shortly after. The series would contain many volume revamps and many new writers during the ages. Many of the events within the DC Universe affected the stories of the titular superhero with several reboots such as ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' and ''The New 52''. The series was given a relaunch in 2016, when DC Comics rebooted its entire line of titles in an event called ''DC Rebirth''. Alitha Martinez
Alitha E. Martinez is an American comic book artist best known for her work on for Marvel Comics's ''Iron Man'', the '' Heroes'' webcomics, and DC's ''Batgirl''. Over the course of her career she has worked for all the major comic book publishers, including Marvel, DC Comics, Image Comics, and Archie Comics. Career Martinez attended the School of Visual Arts in the mid-1990s. DC Rebirth
DC Rebirth is a 2016 relaunch by the American comic book publisher DC Comics of its entire Line (comics), line of ongoing monthly superhero comic book titles. Using the end of The New 52 (2011–2016) initiative in May 2016 as its launching point, DC Rebirth restored the DC Universe to a form much like that prior to the 2011 "Flashpoint (comics), Flashpoint" storyline while still incorporating numerous elements of The New 52, including its continuity. It also saw many of its titles move to a twice-monthly release schedule, along with being released at . DC Comics ended the Rebirth branding in December 2017, opting to include everything under a larger "DC Universe" banner and naming.
