NOW 80s is a British free-to-air music television channel, focusing exclusively on playing music from the 1980s. The channel launched in its current form on 27 December 2016, initially as a temporary pop-up rebrand of Now Music, previously a contemporary pop channel. The 80s format was subsequently made permanent. History In October 2013, Greatest Hits TV was replaced with a channel based on the ''Now That's What I Call Music!'' compilation brand, marking the 30th anniversary year of the ''Now!'' series. The new channel played a mix of current/contemporary and classic pop hits, broadcasting strands such as ''Britain's Hit 40''. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for Digitization, digitizing 625 lines, 625 line Analog television, analogue television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy colour encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL#PAL region, PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Freeview is the United Kingdom's sole Digital terrestrial television in the United Kingdom, digital terrestrial television platform. It is operated by Everyone TV and DTV Services Ltd, a joint venture between the BBC, ITV plc, ITV, Channel Four Television Corporation, Channel 4, Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, 5 and Sky UK, Sky. It was launched on 30 October 2002, taking over the licence from ITV Digital which collapsed that year. T'Pau (band)
T'Pau are an English pop music, pop group formed in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, led by singer Carol Decker. They had a string of top 40 hits in the UK during the late 1980s and early 1990s, most notably "China in Your Hand", "Heart and Soul (T'Pau song), Heart and Soul" and "Valentine (T'Pau song), Valentine", and several hits in the rest of Europe, before disbanding in 1992.
