Novokuznetskaya () is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. The station was opened on 20 November 1943. History Construction of the station began shortly after the launch of the second stage in 1938. Despite World War II the station was opened on time. Later in 1978 the platform was lengthened. This part is in a more modern style than the rest of the station. Design The station honors the Soviet fighting men with its heavy ornamentation. The architects, I. Taranov and N. Bykova, won a USSR State Prize for their design. The decorations include seven octagonal ceiling mosaics by Vladimir Frolov on the theme of wartime industry and bas-reliefs running along the base of the ceiling (by artists N.V. Tomsky, A.E. Zelensky, S.M. Rabinovich, and N.M. Shtamm) depicting the soldiers of the Red Army in combat. The Zamoskvoretskaya line (, ), formerly Gorkovsko–Zamoskvoretskaya () (Line 2; Green Line), is a line of the Moscow Metro in the Moscow Oblast of Russia. Tretyakovskaya (Moscow Metro)
Tretyakovskaya (. English: Tretyakov's) is a station complex of Moscow Metro located in the Zamoskvorechye District, Central Administrative Okrug. It offers a cross-platform interchange between Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya lines. It is named after the nearby Tretyakov Gallery. Unlike Kitay-gorod which was purpose-built as a cross-platform interchange station, Tretyakovskaya operated as a normal station before the connection with Kalininskaya Line in 1986. At that time a second hall was opened forming a cross-platform interchange. The two halls are joined by a passage located midway along their length and also by the shared vestibule, which opens onto Klimentovsky Lane. Kalininskaya Line
The Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line (, ) (Line 8; Yellow Line) is a line of the Moscow Metro system in Moscow, Russia, currently consisting of two separate parts. It was opened as the eastwards Kalininskaya line in 1979, with the first stations of the western Solntsevsky radius opening in 2014. Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line
The Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line (, ) (Line 6; Orange Line) is a line of the Moscow Metro, that originally existed as two separate radial lines, Rizhskaya and Kaluzhskaya opened in 1958 and 1962, respectively. Nikolai Vasilyevich Tomsky (; , – 22 November 1984) was a much-decorated Soviet sculptor, designer of many well-known ceremonial monuments of the Socialist Realism era. Biography Born in the village of Staro Ramushevo in Novgorod province, into a blacksmith's family, Tomsky studied in Leningrad. In 1927, graduated from the Arts and Crafts College. The sculptor first came to attention with his memorial to Sergey Kirov, a heroic bronze with friezes around the base, for which he won the 1941 Stalin Prize. Thereafter his career developed in an official direction; he would be eventually tasked to re-design Lenin's own sarcophagus, produce Stalin's bust at Stalin's grave, and produce at least five major statues of Lenin throughout the Soviet Union.
