Krezip
Krezip is a Dutch pop, rock, and alternative music band from Tilburg, Netherlands, formed in 1997. Krezip's members formed a cover band while in the midst of highschool, and were still remarkably young when they broke through, playing all original songs, at the nationally televised Pinkpop festival, in 2000. The band has since had several successful albums and numerous hit singles in the Netherlands, as well as live success, playing at festivals in Belgium and Germany. The band has four consistent core members, centered around front woman, lead singer and song writer Jacqueline Govaert. In 2008, Krezip's breakthrough single " I Would Stay" was given a once-only, people's choice based award for "All-time best Dutch single", by Dutch national radio station 3FM. In 2008, Krezip again made headlines in the Netherlands, announcing their 2009 break-up, at an average age of just 27, and by that time having been active for twelve years. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Jacqueline Govaert
Jacqueline Govaert (; born 20 April 1982) is a Dutch singer, songwriter, and pianist. She is best known as the leader of Dutch band Krezip. After Krezip disbanded in 2009, Govaert started a solo music career. She released her debut album ''Good Life'' in August 2010. Musical career Krezip Govaert wrote her first songs on the piano at age 12. She graduated from the Dutch Rockacademy in Tilburg. Prior to that, she had started the band Krezip in high school. The band released their first EP in 1999; it was an independent release. In 2000, the band was signed by Warner Music and played at Lowlands and Pinkpop. In the same year their first LP came out, gaining considerable success that continued until they disbanded in 2009. Govaert was the band's main songwriter. She was also the band's pianist until guitarist Annelies Kuijsters was forced to take over this role, having lost her ability to play guitar after a severe injury.
