The Northern Region Football (NRF) is an association football organisation, responsible for local growth and development of the game from Northland to South Auckland, New Zealand. Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Bay Olympic
Bay Olympic is an association football club based in New Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Northern League. They have won the NRFL Premier League three times. History The club was formed from the merger of Blockhouse Bay (founded 1948) and Green Bay-Titirangi United (founded 1973) in 1998. Blockhouse Bay had been a prominent Auckland team, and were winners of the 1970 Chatham Cup, and losing finalists in 1975. Bay Olympic were losing finalists of the 2010 Chatham Cup. Fencibles United
Fencibles United AFC is an amateur association football club, they currently compete in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 2. The club is based in Howick/ Pakuranga, Auckland. The clubs roots go back to Pakuranga Town AFC and Howick AFC. History In 1995, two East Auckland clubs, Pakuranga Town AFC and Howick AFC, amalgamated to form Fencibles United AFC. The adoption of 'Fencibles United AFC' as the name for the club, has recognised the Fencibles as the historic link between the two clubs and identifies with the locality. The Fencibles were the first European settlers in the region. The name 'Fencibles' refers to the Royal New Zealand Fencible Corps. Metro FC (New Zealand)
Metro F.C. is a New Zealand association football club, based in Auckland, that will compete in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1 for the 2020 season, after winning promotion from Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 2 during the 2019 season. The club was known as Metro College until the 1980s. They were members of the former top premier New Zealand football league the New Zealand National Soccer League which ended in 2004 to give way to the New Zealand Football Championship. West Auckland Kiwi True Blues FC is an amateur association football club based in Auckland, New Zealand. Their home ground is Brains Park located in the suburb of Kelston in Auckland, they currently compete in the NRFL Northern Conference. West Auckland AFC and Kiwi True Blues FC, an Auckland Sunday Football Association team, merged their top teams in 2019, allowing Kiwi True Blues to play in the NRF Conference and together as one team in the Chatham Cup. Hibiscus Coast A.F.C is an amateur football club based in Stanmore Bay on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, New Zealand. The club was founded in 1974, and its home ground is located at Stanmore Bay Park, Whangaparaoa. History The club mainly played in the four or third division in the Northern League from 1974 to 2003 when they were promoted to NRFL Division 2. Ellerslie AFC
Ellerslie AFC is an association football club based in Ellerslie, New Zealand. The senior team currently competes in the NRFL Championship. Club history Ellerslie AFC’s history goes back to the original founding of the Auckland Football Association in 1887, whereby it was one of the seven clubs to participate in the Association’s inaugural competition. The Club continued into the second season of organised soccer in Auckland, but, like the playing of the game at that time, did not continue past that point. Auckland football had slipped into a period of recess, due to the lack of suitable grounds, and Ellerslie became an early victim of the break in competition. Franklin United
Franklin United is a football club based in Drury, New Zealand. They currently play in the NRFL Northern Conference. History The club were formed in 2016 after a merger between Pukekohe AFC and Waiuku. In 2021, Franklin finished 4th, just missing out on promotion. The club has competed in the Chatham Cup five times first competing in 2016, with their best appearance being in 2017 and 2019 where they reached the fourth round.
