Northern Arizona Suns
The Motor City Cruise are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Detroit, and are affiliated with the Detroit Pistons. The Cruise play their home games at Wayne State Fieldhouse. The franchise began play as the Long Beach Jam in 2003 under the revived American Basketball Association (2000–present), American Basketball Association and moved to Bakersfield in the D-League in 2006 as the Bakersfield Jam. After ten years in Bakersfield, California, the franchise was moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 2016 by the Phoenix Suns and were subsequently renamed the Northern Arizona Suns. In 2021, the team relocated to Detroit after being purchased by the Pistons. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is a professional basketball league in North America that serves as the Minor league#Basketball, developmental league of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The league comprises 31 teams; as of the 2024–25 NBA G League season, 2024–25 season, all are single-affiliated or owned by an NBA team except for the independent Mexico City Capitanes. The league was founded in 2001 as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL), renamed the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) in 2005. It received its present name in 2017 under a deal with Gatorade, becoming the first U.S. professional sports league named for an advertiser. Stan Ellis
Stanley William Ellis is an American businessman and politician serving as a member of the California State Assembly for the 32nd district since 2025. A Republican, he won a special election to succeed Vince Fong. Christopher Matthew Jent (born January 11, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former player who serves as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was formerly the head coach of the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, and had a stint as an assistant coach at the Los Angeles Lakers as well. It was home to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League. The arena regularly seats 500 people but it is expandable to 700. Jam owner Stan Ellis estimated in 2010 that the team is saving $500,000 a season by using the smaller facility rather than the much larger Rabobank Arena for home games. Because of the small seating capacity, no single-game tickets are available for any contest. This was also the team's practice facility. Will Voigt
William Voigt (born August 18, 1976) is an American basketball coach who is currently serving as an assistant coach of the Brigham Young University (BYU) men's basketball team. Voigt has held various coaching roles at the professional, minor league, and collegiate levels in the United States and in other countries, including coaching in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Immediately prior to joining the Cougars, Voigt was head coach of the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League. Nate Bjorkgren (; born June 20, 1975) is an American professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of South Dakota and Buena Vista University. Dignity Health Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Bakersfield, California. Located downtown at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and N Street, it was built in 1998, and was originally known as Centennial Garden, a name submitted by local resident Brian Landis. Bay Area-based Mechanics Bank held the naming rights from September 2019, following their merger with Rabobank, N.A., which had held the naming rights since 2005.
