Northern AFC
Northern FC are based in the Northern area of the city of Dunedin, within the Southern Football Federation region of the New Zealand Football structure. The club has 10 senior teams, from Men's and Women's Premiership teams, Men's Reserves, Men's Third and Fourth grade teams, a Men's over 35's and 45s in the masters grades, and a junior club with a large number of teams from 6th grade through to Youth grade, and U15 and U17 youth development teams. The club also has an U19 team who form to compete in end of season tournaments. The club's home ground is The Caledonian Ground, with trainings and other teams playing at Logan Park Turf, the Gardens Ground (The Clubrooms), Chingford Park, and Forrester Park, all are in the Northern area of the city of Dunedin. Southern Premier League (New Zealand)
The Southern Premier League (known as the ODT Southern Men's Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is a New Zealand association football league competition administered by Southern Football involving clubs from the lower half of the South Island of New Zealand. Five of the clubs are from Dunedin, two from Invercargill and one each are from Mosgiel and Timaru. The league has also previously included an Otago youth development team. There is currently a U-15 Development League that runs alongside the competition. Until 2009, the league was known as the SoccerSouth Premier League. Since the inception of the competition, it has been dominated by Dunedin City Royals and the two predecessor teams which merged to form that club, Caversham AFC and Dunedin Technical. Seatoun AFC is a football club in New Zealand, based in the Wellington suburb of Seatoun. The club was founded in 1909 by Charlie Webb. North Shore United Association Football Club is an amateur football club based in the North Shore, Auckland. They compete in the NRFL Championship, after being relegated in 2022. 1959 Chatham Cup
The 1959 Chatham Cup was the 32nd annual version of the Chatham Cup, a nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. The competition was run on a regional basis, with regional associations each holding separate qualifying rounds. Teams taking part in the final rounds are known to have included North Shore United, Rangers (Bay of Plenty), Hamilton Wanderers, Eastern Union (Gisborne), Moturoa (New Plymouth), Colenso Athletic (Hawkes Bay), Wanganui Athletic, Massey College (Manawatu), Miramar Rangers, Nelson Rangers, Western (Christchurch), Northern (Dunedin), Brigadiers (Invercargill). The 1959 final Northern became the first Chatham Cup winners from Otago since Seacliff won the first final in 1923, winning the cup for the first time in their sixth final. Melville United AFC is an amateur football club in Melville, Hamilton, New Zealand. It competes in the Northern League. History The club was formed in 1996 from the merger of Melville AFC (founded 1972) and Waikato United (founded 1988). The team play at Gower Park, which was previously home to Melville United, and before that Melville AFC. The 1961 Chatham Cup was the 34th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. The competition was run on a regional basis, with regional associations each holding separate qualifying rounds. Other teams known to have taken part in the final rounds included Otangarei United (Whangarei), Hamilton Technical Old Boys, Kahukura (Rotorua), Eastern Union (Gisborne), Moturoa (New Plymouth), Napier Rovers, Wanganui United, Kiwi United (Manawatu), Nelson Thistle and Timaru Thistle.
