Swindon North is a List of United Kingdom Parliament constituencies, constituency represented in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, UK Parliament since 2024 by Will Stone, a Labour Party (UK), Labour politician. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was formally renamed from North Swindon to Swindon North, and first contested at the 2024 United Kingdom general election, 2024 general election. History North Swindon was created in 1997 and has been a bellwether since then. However, during the 2010s, the Conservatives won the constituency by much higher numbers than their national popular vote margin. Devizes (UK Parliament Constituency)
Devizes () is a market town and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. It developed around Devizes Castle, an 11th-century Norman architecture, Norman castle, and received a charter in 1141. The castle was besieged during the Anarchy, a 12th-century civil war between Stephen of England and Empress Matilda, and again during the English Civil War when the Cavaliers lifted the siege at the Battle of Roundway Down and the Roundhead, Parliamentarian Army of the West under Sir William Waller was routed. Devizes remained under Royalist control until 1645, when Oliver Cromwell attacked and forced the Royalists to surrender. Blunsdon is a civil parish in the Borough of Swindon, in Wiltshire, England, about north of the centre of Swindon, with the A419 forming its southern boundary. Its main settlement is the village of Broad Blunsdon, with Lower Blunsdon nearby; the hamlet of Broadbush is now contiguous with Broad Blunsdon. Blunsdon is the eastern half of the former Blunsdon St Andrew civil parish. In April 2017, that parish was divided and the western half became a new St Andrews parish. Central Swindon North is a civil parish in the borough of Swindon, Wiltshire, England. History The parish of Central Swindon North was created in 2017, alongside Central Swindon South (later renamed to South Swindon). In 2022, the council opened a new accessible play park at Pinetrees Community Centre. Geography and demographics As its name suggests, the parish covers the northern half of the central area of the town, the east–west railway line separating it from South Swindon parish. Nythe, Eldene And Liden
Nythe, Eldene and Liden is a civil parish in the eastern suburbs of the town of Swindon, England. In addition to the residential areas of Nythe (in the north), Eldene and Liden (southwest and southeast), the parish has the Dorcan industrial area. History and governance The Ordnance Survey map of 1948 shows the area as farmland. In the 1960s, as part of Swindon's eastward expansion, the entire area became a privately built housing estate. Following a Community Governance Review in 2013, Nythe obtained independence from Stratton St Margaret, becoming a parish in its own right with effect from 1 April 2015.
