Norse Federation
The Norse Federation ( no, Nordmanns-Forbundet) is a Norwegian non-profit organization that was founded in 1907, and is under the patronage of the monarch of Norway, currently King Harald V. The organization states that its purpose is to "unit friends of Norway throughout the world". , the organization has approximately 3500 members. It publishes a periodical which is named ''The Norseman''. The federation merged with the Norway-America Association (NORAM) in 2020. Norway
Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe, the mainland territory of which comprises the western and northernmost portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Jacob S
Jacob (; ; ar, يَعْقُوب, Yaʿqūb; gr, Ἰακώβ, Iakṓb), later given the name Israel, is regarded as a patriarch of the Israelites and is an important figure in Abrahamic religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Jacob first appears in the Book of Genesis, where he is described as the son of Isaac and Rebecca, and the grandson of Abraham, Sarah, and Bethuel. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. Inger Elisabeth Prebensen (born 11 January 1945) is a Norwegian jurist and banker. Biography Prebensen was born in Oslo on 11 January 1945. Tom Vraalsen
Tom Eric Vraalsen (26 January 1936 – 13 September 2021) was a Norwegian ambassador and politician for the Centre Party. He served as the Norwegian Minister of International Development from 1989 to 1990, as well as Minister of Nordic Cooperation. He received a master's degree in economics from the University of Århus, Denmark, before joining the Norwegian Foreign Service in 1960. He was the Norwegian Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 1994 to 1996, to the United States of America from 1996 to 2001 and to Finland from 2001 to 2003. Hallgrim Berg (born 28 January 1945) is a Norwegian author, traditional folk musician, and former politician for the Conservative Party. He was a member of the Norwegian Parliament from 1982 to 1997, representing Buskerud. He has released several books and been involved in several musical albums, and held numerous public positions. Lucy Caroline Smith (née Dahl; 12 October 1934 – 27 August 2013) was a Norwegian legal scholar and professor of law at the University of Oslo. Inge Johan Lønning (20 February 1938 – 24 March 2013) was a Norwegian Lutheran theologian and politician for the Conservative Party of Norway. As an academic, he was Professor of Theology and Rector of the University of Oslo during the term 1985–1992. Wilhelm Mohr (aviator)
Wilhelm Mohr (27 June 1917 – 26 September 2016) was a Norwegian aviation officer. He was born in Fana to landowner Wilhelm Mohr and Emily Holm, and was a grandson of grain merchant Conrad Mohr. He served as aviation officer during the Second World War, both in the Norwegian Campaign and later in Little Norway in Canada, and with the No. 332 Squadron RAF. He was promoted Major General in 1962, and Lieutenant General in 1964, and served as head of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. He was decorated Commander of the Order of St. Olav in 1964. Paul Thyness (10 April 1930 in Aker, Norway – 30 March 2016 in Oslo) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. In 1955 he graduated with the cand.philol. degree and majoring in political science at the University of Oslo. Didrik Arup Seip
Didrik Arup Seip (31 August 1884 – 3 May 1963) was a professor of North Germanic languages at the University of Oslo. He earned his doctorate (dr.philos.) in 1916 and was appointed professor the same year, retiring in 1954. Together with Herman Jæger, he edited and published the collected works of Henrik Wergeland in 23 volumes (''Samlede Skrifter : trykt og utrykt'', 1918–1940). From 1937 until 1945, he served as the rector of the university. Seip was a member of the Administrative Council, the temporary civil government of Norway during German military occupation, in 1940. He was removed from his post as rector of the university in 1941.
