An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. Norsborg
Norsborg is a part of Botkyrka Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden. Norsborg consists of the residential areas Hallunda, Eriksberg and Slagsta. Norsborg and Hallunda are contiguous suburbs. History Norsborg was previously a country estate in the Botkyrka parish, situated on a bay of Vårbyfjärden and with some of the property facing Bornsjön, as well as Kärsby and Tomtberga with an area of 350 hectares. The area, which was originally called Borg and was part of the village of Hundhamra, but in the late 1700s the property was named Norsborg after the owner Count Johan Liljencrantz's wife Eleonora Stjernstedt. Liljencrantz also owned Sturehov, Slagsta farm and Fittja in the same parish and had Norsborg's manor built. From his time a significant part of the garden and the large English-style park originate with a gazebo by Olof Tempelman and a view tower that long adorned Norsborg. Botkyrka Municipality ( ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, not far from the capital Stockholm. Its seat is located in the town of Tumba. In 1971 ''Grödinge'' was merged with Botkyrka and in 1974 ''Salem'' was added. The Salem part was split off again in 1983, and a new Salem Municipality was formed. Slussen (') is an area in Stockholm, Sweden, located at the northern edge of Södermalm, adjacent to Gamla stan. Fittja metro station is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in Fittja, Botkyrka Municipality, Sweden. The outdoor station was opened on 1 October 1972 as the south-western terminus of the extension from Vårberg. On 12 January 1975 the line was extended further to Norsborg. SL C30
The SL C30 is a type of metro train used on the Stockholm metro in Stockholm County, Sweden. The first C30 set was inaugurated in 2020 on the Red line, and they have subsequently replaced all the older rolling stock dating back to the 1970s and 1980s. 116 sets have been delivered to Stockholm by Bombardier Transportation and subsequently by Alstom. A set consists of four carriages which are attached by gangways. The train is based on the ''Movia'' platform, which is the same as its predecessor, the C20. The C30 has air conditioning and more wheelchair space, compared to the C20. Technical details The C30 trains are based on the Alstom Movia platform, which also underpins the older C20 trains.
