Norman Kelly (born August 11, 1941) is a retired Canadian politician. He represented Ward 40 Scarborough—Agincourt from 2000 to 2018–serving as acting mayor of Toronto for the period November 18, 2013 to July 1, 2014–was a City of Scarborough Councillor from 1974 to 1980 and 1988 to 2000 and served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Scarborough Centre from 1980 to 1984. Background Kelly is a trained historian. He studied Canadian political history at the University of Western Ontario and attended Carleton University, earning an M.A., and Queen's University, where he began, but did not complete, a Ph.D. Among his most important accomplishments, Kelly undertook a two-year research project for the two best-selling books in the field of Canadian history: ''The National Dream'' and ''The Last Spike'', written by Pierre Berton. Norman John Patrick Kelly (born 6 January 1959) is a former Australian politician. Born in Darlinghurst, New South Wales, he was a photographer before entering politics. In 1982, he moved to Western Australia. In 1996, he was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council for East Metropolitan region as a member of the Australian Democrats; his term began in 1997. Whilst in Parliament, Kelly was a supporter of voluntary euthanasia. He was defeated in 2001. Norman Kelly (footballer)
Norman Kelly (born 10 October 1970) is a Northern Irish former footballer who played for a number of clubs throughout his career. Kelly began his career with Oldham Athletic and spent time on loan with Wigan Athletic before spells in Scotland with Fife sides Dunfermline Athletic and Raith Rovers. After moving back to his native Northern Ireland, Kelly played in Sweden and Malaysia before having a five-year spell in Australia with Canberra Cosmos. When that ended in 1999, Kelly moved to Linfield, where he picked up two league titles and a cup in his three years there. Kelly moved to Glenavon in the summer of 2002 but was released just a few months later. Kelly moved to the United States in 2003 after his short spell with Crusaders where he coached junior football. Kelly won caps for Northern Ireland between under-18 and B team level.
