''Noorie'' is a 1979 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Manmohan Krishna and produced by Yash Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film stars Farooq Shaikh and Poonam Dhillon in lead roles, with supporting performances by Madan Puri and Iftekhar. It marked the only directorial venture of Krishna, a longtime character actor in Hindi cinema. The music was composed by Khayyam, with lyrics by Jan Nisar Akhtar. Poonam Dhillon
Poonam Dhillon (born 18 April 1962) is an Indian actress and politician. A former Eve’s Weekly Miss Young India 1978, she is best known for her 1979 film ''Noorie.'' Some of her well-known films include '' Red Rose'' (1980), '' Dard'' (1981), '' Romance'' (1983), '' Sohni Mahiwal'' (1984), '' Teri Meherbaniyan'' (1985) '' Samundar'' (1986), '' Saveraywali Gaadi'' (1986), ''Karma'' (1986), '' Naam'' (1986) and '' Maalamaal'' (1988). The 27th Filmfare Awards were held in 1980. '' Junoon'' led the ceremony with 9 nominations, followed by ''Gol Maal'' and ''Kaala Patthar'' with 8 nominations each, and ''Sargam'' with 7 nominations. Khayyam (composer)
Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi (18 February 1927 – 19 August 2019), better known mononymously as Khayyam, was an Indian music director and background score composer whose career spanned four decades. He won three Filmfare Awards: for Best Music in 1977 for '' Kabhi Kabhie'' and 1982 for '' Umrao Jaan'', and a lifetime achievement award in 2010. He was awarded the 2007 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in Creative Music, by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy of Music, Dance and Theatre. He was awarded the third-highest civilian honour, Padma Bhushan, by the Government of India in 2011. Jan Nisar Akhtar
Jan Nisar Akhtar (18 February 1914 – 19 August 1976) was an Indian poet of Urdu ghazals and nazms, and a part of the Progressive Writers' Movement, who was also a lyricist for Bollywood. He was the son of Muztar Khairabadi and great grandson of Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi, who were both Urdu poets. His career spanned four decades during which he worked with music composers including C. Ramchandra, O.P. Nayyar, Datta Naik also credited as N. Datta and Khayyam and wrote 151 songs. Notable among them were songs from his breakthrough film, A.R. Manmohan Krishna (26 February 1922 – 3 November 1990) was an Indian film actor and director, who worked in Hindi films for four decades, mostly as a character actor. He started his career as a professor in Physics and held master's degree in physics. He anchored the radio show ''Cadbury's Phulwari'', a singing contest. Many people don't know that Manmohan Krishna sang his first song, 'Jhat khol de' in Afsar (1950), a Dev Anand film with music by S.D. Burman. He was a favourite with the Chopra brothers and played small or large roles in movies directed and/or produced by them. Farooq Shaikh
Farooq Sheikh (25 March 1948 − 28 December 2013) was an Indian actor, philanthropist and television presenter. He was best known for his work in Hindi films from 1973 to 1993 and for his work in television between 1988 and 2002. He returned to acting in films in 2008 and continued to do so until his death on 28 December 2013. His major contribution was in Parallel Cinema or the New Indian Cinema. Gita Siddharth (7 August 1950 – 14 December 2019) was an Indian actress and social worker. She acted in mainstream Bollywood as well as art cinema, like '' Parichay'' (1972), '' Garm Hava'' (1973), and '' Gaman'' (1978). She was best known for her role in M.S.
