Noori Mian
Noori Mian (or Noor Mohammad; died 1921) was a businessman from Siwan who laid the foundation of industry in the backward areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh, particularly Bhatni in Deoria district, and to some extent Siwan, Bihar, by establishing sugar mills in the early 1900s.page-36 Early life and career Noori Mian was born at village Balua Guthani Siwan in Bihar (birth date: unknown). Guthani is a community development block and a revenue circle in Siwan district of the Indian state of Bihar, lying on the banks of river Chhoti Gandak. It is one of 13 blocks of Siwan Subdivision. Bhatni Bazar
Bhatni Bazar is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in the Deoria district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the capital of the Development block Bhatni. Economy Bhatni Bazar is divided into two markets: the first is Nooriganj Bazar, which contained a sugar mill and was built by Noori Mian circa 1919. The other is the large Hatwa Bazar.
