Nongchanai Prinyathawat
Nongchanai Prinyathawat (; 1921–2014) was a Thai novelist. She was born on 9 May 1921 in Chaiyaphum. She earned a bachelor's degree in law from Thammasat University. She was a professor in the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University. Nongchanai wrote around 50 novels, over 10 children's novels, as well as short stories and poems. Many of her novels were made into television series and films. She often used the pen name Kanchana Nakhanan (). Her first long novel was ''Sam Darun'', published in 1946. Her 1965 romance novel of Thai rural life, ''Poo Yai Lee Gub Nang Ma'', is one of the most famous novels in Thailand. The novel was made into a film and television dramas seven times between 1971 and 2009. Nongchanai was recognized as a National Artist of Thailand in 2012 in the category of literature. Chaiyaphum
Chaiyaphum (, ; , ) is a town ('' thesaban mueang'') in northeastern Thailand, capital of Chaiyaphum Province. it had a population of 58,350, and covers the full ''tambon'' Nai Mueang of Mueang Chaiyaphum District. Chaiyaphum is 337 road kilometres northeast of Bangkok. As of 2021, there are wild elephants in the town. Geography Chaiyaphum lies on the Khorat plateau at elevation. The land in the immediate vicinity of the city is flat, but the Phetchabun Mountains rise to the west. Climate Chaiyaphum has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification ''Aw''). Chulalongkorn University
Chulalongkorn University (CU; ; , ) is a public university, public Autonomous university, autonomous research university in Bangkok, Thailand. The university was originally founded during King Chulalongkorn's reign as a school for training royal pages and civil servants in 1899 (B.E. 2442) at the Grand Palace. It was later established as a national university in 1917, making it the oldest institute of higher education in Thailand. The National Artist (, , ) is a title given annually by the Office of the National Culture Commission of Thailand, recognizing notable Thai artists in the area of intangible cultural heritage such as literature, fine arts, visual arts, applied arts (architecture, design) and performing arts (Dance of Thailand, Thai dance, international dance, puppetry, Nang drama, shadow play, Music of Thailand, Thai music, international music, drama and Cinema of Thailand, film).
