Nonetheless
''Nonetheless'' is the fifteenth studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys, released on 26 April 2024 through the band's own label x2 and Parlophone. It was produced by James Ford and mostly recorded at his East London studio. The band's first album for Parlophone since ''Elysium'' in 2012, its four-year gap with '' Hotspot'' (2020) marks their longest period between studio albums to date. It was preceded by the single "Loneliness", released alongside the album announcement. Background ''Nonetheless'' was composed during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant were isolated at their respective homes. At Lowe's suggestion, Tennant learned to program with GarageBand, and the duo sent songs back and forth to each other. They found it refreshing to write for pleasure rather than to meet a deadline; Lowe remarked that he didn't realise they were making an album until Tennant sent his proposed track listing. James Ellis Ford (born 11 December 1978) is an English record producer and songwriter, known for being a member of Simian Mobile Disco and the Last Shadow Puppets as well as his production work with Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Depeche Mode, Foals, Florence and the Machine, Haim, Gorillaz, Klaxons, Jessie Ware, Kylie Minogue, Declan McKenna, the Pet Shop Boys, Pulp and Geese (band). In 2023 he released a solo album '' The Hum'' on Warp Records. Biography James Ellis Ford was born on 11 December 1978 in Staffordshire. Ford went to Manchester University, along with other members of Simian. Ford was a founding member of the group Simian and later a member the spin-off duo Simian Mobile Disco. "Heart" is a song by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys from their second studio album, '' Actually'' (1987). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on 21 March 1988 by Parlophone. Rudolf Khametovich Nureyev (17 March 19386 January 1993) was a Soviet-born ballet dancer and choreographer. Nureyev is widely regarded as the preeminent male ballet dancer of his generation as well as one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time. Mladen Solomun (born December 27, 1975), better known under his stage name Solomun, is a Bosnian-German DJ, producer and remixer. He is a four-time DJ Awards winner for Best Producer, Best DJ and Best Melodic House DJ. Musical career After Solomun was born in Travnik, Yugoslavia (today Bosnia and Herzegovina), he moved to Hamburg with his family, where he grew up.
