Non Evans
Non Evans (born 20 June 1974) is a Welsh multi-discipline sportswoman and TV personality who has competed internationally in rugby union, rugby sevens, touch rugby, judo, weightlifting and freestyle wrestling. Evans is notable for being the first person to compete in two separate sports at the same Commonwealth games and for later becoming the first woman to compete in three sports at multiple games. In rugby union, she is the world's all-time leading points scorer and Wales' top try scorer in either women's or men's internationals. Early life Evans was brought up in Pontarddulais and described herself as "very sporty" despite being "very small". She spent her early years competing as an acrobat with Bynea Acrobatic Club, appearing on UK TV programmes ''Blue Peter'' and '' Going Live!''. Non Stanford
Non Rhiannydd Stanford (born 8 January 1989) is a British former professional triathlete, representing Great Britain and Wales at international level. Stanford was the ITU (now World Triathlon) World Champion in 2013, part of the Great Britain world champion mixed relay team in 2012 and represented Team GB at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where she finished fourth behind teammate and housemate Vicky Holland. Hindered thereafter by recurrent injuries, she struggled to repeat the dominant form of her early years. In her final year of competition, 2022, however she found an exceptional final flourish of form; she anchored Wales to silver in the team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, her first Commonwealth medal and her first major championship medal since 2015 World Triathlon mixed relay bronze. Saint Non
Non (also Nonna or Nonnita) was, according to Christian tradition, the mother of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales. Legend The ''Life of St David'' was written around 1095 by Rhigyfarch, and is our main source of knowledge for the lives of both St David (died c. 589) and his mother. Rhigyfarch was a Norman cleric whose father had been Bishop of St David's for 10 years.''An Essential Guide to Celtic Sites and their Saints'', Rees, Elizabeth, Burns & Oates, 2003, pp. 208-209. He states that she was a nun at Ty Gwyn ("the white house") near Whitesands Bay (Pembrokeshire), (although she may have become a nun later as a widow).
