Nomadi (or I Nomadi, meaning " Nomads") is an Italian band formed in 1963 and still present on the music scene. Career Origins In 1961, Beppe Carletti and Leonardo Manfredini formed the group I Monelli (‘Urchins’). In 1962, Carletti met Franco Midilli, guitarist of the group Novellara, who joined them in Monelli. In 1963 Franco Midilli introduced Augusto Daolio to Beppe Carletti and he too joined the group. In that year the band’s name was changed to ''Nomadi''. I Nomadi of Augusto Daolio I Nomadi sprang from one of the most fervent periods of the Italian music scene: the 1960s. In those years an economic boom revealed an Italy economically enriched but already socially impoverished. Nomad
A nomad is a member of a community without fixed habitation who regularly moves to and from the same areas. Such groups include hunter-gatherers, pastoral nomads (owning livestock), tinkers and trader nomads. In the twentieth century, the population of nomadic pastoral tribes slowly decreased, reaching an estimated 30–40 million nomads in the world . Nomadic hunting and gathering—following seasonally available wild plants and game—is by far the oldest human subsistence method. Pastoralists raise herds of domesticated livestock, driving or accompanying them in patterns that normally avoid depleting pastures beyond their ability to recover. Nomadism is also a lifestyle adapted to infertile regions such as steppe, tundra, or ice and sand, where mobility is the most efficient strategy for exploiting scarce resources. Sanremo Music Festival 2006
The Sanremo Music Festival 2006 was the 56th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, between late February and early March 2006 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Italian comedian Giorgio Panariello, who also served as the artistic co-director, with showgirls Ilary Blasi and Victoria Cabello. It consisted of a competition between 30 songs, divided into four different categories—Men, Women, Groups and Newcomers. As in the previous year, a winner for each category was announced, and the final winner of the competition was selected among the artist which took first place in one of the five sections. Francesco Guccini
Francesco Guccini (, born 14 June 1940) is an Italian singer-songwriter, considered one of the most important '' cantautori'' of his time. During the five decades of his music career he has recorded 16 studio albums and collections, and 6 live albums. He is also a writer, having published autobiographic and noir novels, and a comics writer. Guccini also worked as actor, soundtrack composer, lexicographer and dialectologist. Guccini moved to Pàvana during World War II, then returned to Modena where he spent his teenage years and established his musical career. His debut album, ''Folk beat n. 1'', was released in 1967, but the first success was in 1972 with the album '' Radici''. He was harshly criticised after releasing '' Stanze di vita quotidiana'', and answered his critics with the song "L'avvelenata". Beppe Carletti
Giuseppe "Beppe" Carletti (born August 12, 1946) is an Italian musician, founder and keyboardist of the band I Nomadi. Career Carletti was born in Novi di Modena, Emilia-Romagna. He founded the Nomadi at the age of sixteen, together with Augusto Daolio, Franco Midili, Leonardo Manfredini, Gualtiero Gelmini and Antonio Campari. After Daolio's death, he remained the sole founder member still active with the band. Carletti has always distinguished for his humanitarian and social engagement. He founded a hospital in Cambodia and Vietnam where girls victims of slavery were helped. On February 18, 2005, Daolio's birthday, he was named Knight of Italian Republic by president Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. His favourite football team is Juventus. Augusto Daolio
Augusto Daolio (February 18, 1947 – October 7, 1992) was an Italian singer, poet, and painter. He is the founding member and frontman of I Nomadi band. Daolio was born in Novellara, Emilia-Romagna egl, Emigliàn (man) egl, Emiglièna (woman) rgn, Rumagnòl (man) rgn, Rumagnòla (woman) it, Emiliano (man) it, Emiliana (woman) or it, Romagnolo (man) it, Romagnola (woman) , population_note = , population_blank1_title .... Novellara
Novellara ( Reggiano: or ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy and has a population of 13,670. It is north of Reggio Emilia and has a railway station for the local train going from Reggio to Guastalla. History The current name comes from the medieval ''Nubilaria'', when the surrounding terrain was mostly covered by marshes, which favoured the formation of recurring fogs. The town was the seat of the Gonzaga family from the 13th century: here Guido Gonzaga, in the early 14th century, created an effectively independent lordship, which later evolved into the County of Novellara and Bagnolo, including grossly what is now the communal territory of Novellara and the nearby Bagnolo in Piano.
