It was announced in August 2010. It was available in China, Eurasia, Europe, India, Latin America, Middle East, and South-East Asia and the Pacific Region. It is very small and compact. Resistive Touchscreen
In electrical engineering, a resistive touchscreen is a touch-sensitive computer display composed of two flexible sheets coated with a resistive material and separated by an air gap or microdots. Description and operation There are two different types of metallic layers. The first type is called ''matrix'', in which striped electrodes on substrates such as glass or plastic face each other. The second type is called ''analogue'' which consists of transparent electrodes without any patterning facing each other. As of 2011 analogue offered lowered production costs. When contact is made to the surface of the touchscreen, the two sheets are pressed together. On these two sheets there are horizontal and vertical lines that, when pushed together, register the precise location of the touch. The S60 Platform (formerly Series 60 User Interface) was a software platform for smartphones that runs on top of the Symbian operating system. It was created by Nokia based on the 'Pearl' user interface from Symbian Ltd. It was introduced at COMDEX in November 2001 and first shipped with the Nokia 7650 smartphone. The platform has since seen 5 updated editions. Series 60 was renamed to ''S60'' in November 2005.
