Daniel Noce
Daniel Noce (1894−1976) was a U.S. Army Lieutenant General who served in both world wars. Over his decorated military career he rose to the position of Inspector General of the Army. Following his retirement from the armed forces, he served as an executive at Michigan's Donnelly-Kelley Glass Company. Noce died in Sperryville, Virginia on February 17, 1976. Early life He was born on November 3, 1894, in Denver, Colorado. His father was Angelo Noce, who founded the first Italian newspaper in Colorado (La Stella) and led the push for the Columbus Day holiday. Daniel learned woodworking and carpentry in high school and made furniture as a hobby throughout his life. He received an appointment to West Point and took up boxing, breaking his nose twice. Paul David Noce (born December 16, 1959) is an American former professional baseball player who played for the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds of the Major League Baseball (MLB). He debuted on June 1, 1987, against the Houston Astros. He played in 70 games that year at second base, shortstop, and third base. He didn't appear in the majors again until 1990 with the Cincinnati Reds. He had only one at bat that season, in which he singled. Teresa Noce (29 July 1900 – 22 January 1980) was an Italian labor leader, activist, journalist and feminist. She served as a parliamentary deputy and advocated broad social legislation benefiting mothers. Biography Teresa Noce was born in Turin, Italy on 29 July 1900 to an unmarried, working-class mother. She started working as a turner in the local Fiat Brevetti factory at the age of ten. By the age of 12, she was involved in the workers' union and joined demonstrations. As a journalist she wrote for ''Il Grido del Popolo'' (''The People's Cry'') and ''Ordine Nuove'' from 1914 to 1917.
