Noarootsi Parish ( et, Noarootsi vald, sv, Nuckö kommun) was a rural Municipalities of Estonia, municipality in Lääne County, western Estonia between 1991 and 2017. It covered an area of and had a population of 910. The administrative centre of Noarootsi Parish was Pürksi village ( sv, Birkas). It is located 10 km north from the Capital (political), capital of Lääne County, Haapsalu. Municipalities Of Estonia
A municipality ( et, omavalitsus, plural ) is the smallest administrative subdivision of Estonia. Each municipality is a unit of self-government with its representative and executive bodies. The municipalities in Estonia cover the entire territory of the country. Municipalities in Estonia are of two types: *Urban municipalities or towns (, singular ) *Rural municipalities or parishes (, singular ). There is no other status distinction between them. Municipalities may contain one or several settlements. All but 5 urban municipalities ( Haapsalu, Narva-Jõesuu, Paide, Pärnu and Tartu) plus 1 rural municipality ( Ruhnu) contain only one settlement. Saare, Lääne County
Saare ( sv, Lyckholm, german: Lückholm) is a village in Lääne-Nigula Parish, Lääne County, in western Estonia. Private Lyckholm Airfield (ICAO: EELU) is located in the village. Saare manor Saare manor was established in 1622. The last owners before the Estonian land reform in 1919 was the von Rosen family. During the 20th century, the manor fell into disrepair and eventually collapsed. Gustav von Rosen, who as a child grew up in the manor house, bought the ruins in 1996 and rebuilt the manor in 2001.
