Noah Lennox
Noah Benjamin Lennox (born July 17, 1978), also known by his moniker Panda Bear, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and co-founding member of the band Animal Collective. In addition to his work with that group, Lennox has released six solo LPs since 1999, with his 2007 album ''Person Pitch'' inspiring the chillwave genre and numerous other acts. His subsequent albums ''Tomboy (album), Tomboy'' (2011) and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'' (2015) both reached the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Lennox was primarily raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he sang tenor in his high school chamber choir, and studied piano and cello. The name "Panda Bear" derived from his habit of drawing pandas on his early mixtapes as a teenager. He and the other members of Animal Collective began collaborating in the late 1990s. Chillwave
Chillwave (originally considered synonymous with glo-fi and hypnagogic pop) is a music microgenre that emerged in the late 2000s. It is characterized by evoking the popular music of the late 1970s and early 1980s while engaging with notions of memory and nostalgia. Common features include a faded or dreamy retro pop music, pop sound, Escapism, escapist lyrics (frequent topics include the beach or summer), psychedelic music, psychedelic or lo-fi music, lo-fi aesthetics, mellow vocals, slow-to-moderate tempos, Effects unit, effects processing (especially reverb), and vintage synthesizers. Roland Park, Baltimore
Roland Park is a community in Baltimore, Maryland. It was developed between 1890 and 1920 as an upper-class streetcar suburb. The early phases of the neighborhood were designed by Edward Bouton and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. History Jarvis and Conklin, a Chicago investment firm, purchased of land near Lake Roland in 1891 and founded the Roland Park Company with $1 million in capital. Sonic Boom (musician)
Peter Kember (born 19 November 1965), also known by his stage name Sonic Boom, is an English singer-songwriter, composer and record producer. He was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist of neo-psychedelic band Spacemen 3, lasting from 1982 until the band's dissolution in 1991. He is now based in Sintra, Portugal. Kember has also led the musical projects Spectrum and E.A.R. (Experimental Audio Research), sometimes as the only member. He has played and collaborated with a number of artists, including Stereolab, Panda Bear, Yo La Tengo, and Sinner DC. In the modern music industry, a mixtape is a musical project, typically with looser constraints than that of an album or extended play. Unlike the traditional album or extended play, mixtapes are labeled as laid-back projects that allow artists more creative freedom and less commercial pressure.
